You’ve come to the right place. We have just the thing to tickle your funny bone. It happened at the Not Great American State Fair, which is a bonus for us, because in a manner of speaking, it reflects on Trump. The farce continues! If wishes were horses, we all could ride, but wish this birthday celebration … oh wait, it’s a Trump Rally, on the 4th, could have been done properly with the right organization and the money that belonged to it, as well as what the states were supposed to get. But no. It’s a Trump Rally. Blech. Compliments to Raw Story:

A Freedom 250 fan charged with lewd acts at President Donald Trump’s Great American State Fair is claiming his alleged conduct was constitutionally protected “patriotic expression.” Gian Rachtelli, 54, a Baltimore-area MAGA livestreamer known as “Manny,” was arrested June 25 at a Cirque Mechanics acrobatic show on the National Mall. Prosecutors charged him with “lewd, indecent, or obscene acts,” according to court records.

No need to go into details here. *ahem* He was being “patriotic”? That must be the new euphemism for such things. He was enjoying himself. Would have been better if he had been “patriotic” to Trump. We could have laughed for years at that one! It’s probably not the sort of patriotism Trump was thinking of for this joke of a celebration.

His attorney, James D. Valentine, filed a motion on June 30 in D.C. Superior Court asking a judge to narrow or eliminate the stay-away order barring Rachtelli from the entire National Mall. “The stay-away order is overbroad,” the motion said. “All of the alleged activity occurred in the vicinity of the Cirque Mechanics stage area while Mr. Gian Rachtelli was dressed in a red, white and blue patriotic ‘Uncle Sam‘ outfit,… He engaged in political and patriotic expressions of free speech.” “[T]he overly broad prohibition against him from entering the National Mall entirely constitutes an unnecessary restriction of his constitutional rights,” the motion argued.

We can almost hope the order gets changed from restricting his constitutional rights. That would be quite a defense to use. “Judge, I was exercising my rights!” “Oh, is that what you call it? Dude, your rights are wrong in this example. No one needed to see your … rights”. We may or may not find out if it worked, the smaller restricted location.

“[T]he alleged activity occurred in the vicinity of the Cirque Mechanics stage,” the motion said, asking the court to limit any restriction to within 50 yards of that stage. “Mr. Rachtelli and his wife have purchased plane and hotel tickets to fly to Washington, D.C., from July 1-5, 2026, to attend the Great American State Fair.” The attorney argued that his client was “concerned that in addition to the financial harm, the current restriction publicly brands him as excluded from a major patriotic event and contributes to damaging his reputation.” Three witnesses told police they observed Rachtelli making lewd gestures during the performance, according to the arrest affidavit. One said he “returned for the second show.”

We would expect that it would help his reputation, not hurt it. This is something very unusual to do that we certainly haven’t heard about before. And if he’s MAGA, why wouldn’t it help? He’s a white male, yes? There are still a lot of those around, and as a generalization, they tend to be supportive of each other. Now, there are a whole bunch of us who would rather not witness such a thing. But he was dressed as Uncle Sam, being “patriotic”. Uh, huh.

See you soon!

Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
