Not clear at this moment whether Trump ordered this already or if it is just a case of anticipatory compliance by some coward in the chain of command but CBS News is reporting that General Mark Milley’s portrait – which was installed in the Pentagon just 10 days ago – has, in the last couple of hours, been unceremoniously removed from its spot in a Pentagon Hallway:

While we do not yet know what circumstances led to the portrait’s demotion these details about the composition of the work (which are typically requested by the subject), provided by reporter Natasha Bertrand, might provide a clue as to who else Milley might have offended:

Yeah, Milley might have teed off T-Rump by calling him an unstable fascist, but if you really want to see the Quislings in the Government snap to attention and take action you have to insult HIS boss by highlighting your role in helping Ukraine in your official portrait.

I would post some Twitter commentary on this post but it’s mostly MagHat trolls calling Milley a traitor.

Speaking of traitors, here’s Elon Muskrat earlier today celebrating today’s elevation of his vassal Trump to the Residency:

It’s a brave new world, folks.

  1. Milley has a superb history of subtle Trump sabotage as seen in the portrait. More kudos to him. And the reference in Dino’s report to “a case of anticipatory compliance by some coward in the chain of command” is exactly how Trump will succeed; individuals goin’ along to get along, in fact or in anticipation. I fear for the further erosion of trust and honor

    With apologies to Martin Niemöller (who wrote witht the authority of having spent about 8 years under the Nazis, in prisons and concentration camps).:
    First they came for {insert} but I did not speak out because I was not a {};
    Then they came for {} but I did not speak out because I was not a {}; ….
    …….
    Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

    In that context, I make passing mention of having just seen a juvenile Elon cavorting on stage and giving a Nazi salute. Probably well noticed but not reported and a further harbinger . Mayhap such antics may signal how quickly he might overstep the mark

  2. Don’t know who that “Natasha” woman is but that map she’s referencing is a WORLD map–the right side of one–which, given its location would, by necessity, display the Asia section of the world. Most maps tend to put the Americas on the left half of the image (that whole “Western Hemisphere” thing and the typical “west = left” directional deal) unless they’re upside-down.

    But, “Natasha” might want to recall that TRUMP is all palsy-walsy with Putin and has done a lot of talking about giving Putin everything he wants with regards to Ukraine and Europe. (And you know for all his talk about Greenland being so necessary for American security, I can see Trump giving Putin a LOT of “special treatment” over Greenland; Russia won’t sit still for a Greenland that would put US troops and military weapons that much closer to the Rodina.)

    • Your explanation of the map’s appearance was useful; I hope Natasha sees your explanation. Your intentional insult of Natasha (“that ‘Natasha’ woman”) was not useful. Like you, I did not know who Natasha Bertrand was. Unlike you, I took a few minutes to search for her online. It turns out she is quite well known. I read the Wikipedia entry on her; it’s only about a page. It tells where she went to college and details the various places where she has worked and some of her accomplishments.

      If you want to know who Natasha is, I recommend the Wikipedia entry for an overview. I will get you started with the first sentence from the entry:

      Natasha Bertrand (/ˈbɜːrtrænd/;[1] born May 12, 1992) is an American journalist who is a Pentagon correspondent for CNN covering national security.
