It looks like our nutjob FBI Director has a case of “Hegseth” envy. As in being jealous of Hegseth running around touring ‘Warrior Culture’ and having all those troops he can order to go out and kill people. Kash? He wants to have his people go around killing people too dammit! He looks at Hegseth, and says IT”S NOT FAIR!. So, apparently he’s decided to create if not a ‘Warrior Culture’ in the FBI then at least an attitude of ‘If a situation comes up where you can make it crazy and shoot people then you by god better have it end with people in the hospital or the graveyard.’
Most of the time when I see Kash Patel he evokes thoughts in me of him being a crazier, more self-centered batshIt insane evil twin of the Tom Haverford character from Parks and Recreation. I just read another news story that reinforces that, as a group of FBI agents who were fired by Patel have sued him. It seems in a situation during the George Floyd Protests what was shaping up to be a violent confrontation was DE-escalated by the agents instead of them escalating it into a dangerous confrontation.
As this article from The Daily Beast tells us when the group of agents that normally worked in counter-intelligence and counterterrorism crossed paths with a group marching their way there were families with children there. All the signs pointed towards trouble so the agents, wearing FBI vests chose to instead of meet them with force to instead kneel. Actually a review held they followed protocol. No violence ensued. Ok, this all happened five years ago but if you look at the linked article there’s a great picture of the agents kneeling.
The racists in our country made a BFD about FBI people supposedly being political, of showing solidarity with the protesters. Maybe some of them did feel kinship with the mob. Maybe some didn’t. However all were professionals. As the review into their actions concluded they assessed the situation taking note of non-protesters including children that could get caught up in any confrontation. So, in keeping with policy of de-escalating tense situations instead of ramping them up, and since no property was being destroyed and no one was brandishing weapons (as I recall from back then) they knelt. They were cleared by the investigation and that was that.
At least until this second Trump administration. While Hegseth was running around chest trumping about rebuilding warrior culture and we’d by god show the world how “lethal” we were Patel was purging the FBI of various types of agents. Not just those who insisted on remaining neutral and professional but anyone who might, might harbor agreement with the Biden administration. This 2020 incident came up I guess, and the fact the agents had been cleared and even commended didn’t matter. Patel summarily fired them.
Now they are suing to get their jobs back. But I keep thinking about Patel, who lest we forget asked right off the bat when he got to the FBI when he could get his own gun wants to hold the power of life and death over others. As in be able to order deaths. In HIS FBI agents better not go around diffusing situations and ‘only arresting’ people. Oh hell no. He wants them to ramp things up into a confrontation so they can shoot folks dead on the spot. Sort of a “Take THAT Hegseth!” type of thing.
Now, I’m aware of the timeline. The agents were fired months before the boat strikes but let’s face facts. It was clear long before they started that stuff like that was in the works. Even domestically Hegseth was putting not just federalized National Guard units but even active duty troops into situations that could easily have spun out of control. If not for the professionalism of the troops and their on-scene officers and senior NCOs we might well have had another Kent State which I wrote recently is exactly what Trump wants to happen.
Well, the lawsuit will take time to play out. Patel might not even be Director by the time it gets to court. However he WILL find himself caught up in it and he’d better have a damned good lawyer. Let’s hope he shells out millions to keep his crazy and worthless ass out of trouble. If there was true justice the agents would get their jobs back. And Patel would not only have to be present when they are sworn back in, HE would have to hand them their credentials – their badges and ID. No, not the guns. I shudder at him having a gun in his hands!

These pathetic excuses for men think they have to be violent and macho to be manly. They haven’t the first idea of what being a man is. They only know the false bravado, being violent especially against the weak, women, the other. I look forward to the day when if we can’t educate them to be better, we can at least sweep all the racist, misogynist vermin back under the rocks they crawled out from.
