This was a good day. First of all, Robert Keith Packer, the Trump supporting, Hitler loving scumbag that actually wore a Camp Auschwitz sweatshirt to the Capitol as he assaulted police officers, and tried to find members of congress to murder on behalf of Trump, pleaded guilty today. As a part of his plea, the Assistant US Attorney for his case said that he was cooperating, and giving the office unfettered access to his social media feeds.
And in another court, Oath Creeper leader Elmer ol’ one eye Stuart Rhodes learned from a Texas federal district court judge that he would remain in durance vile until his trial, since he definitely posed a threat to the general population.
But you know, as I look at these people, and follow their progress through the courts, whether Oath Creeper’s, Loud Toys, 3% IQer’s, or all the rest of then, I am struck by how pathetically shallow the whole goddamn bunch of them are. But then I think about the truly pathetic criminal capabilities of the Don Cornholeone Mob in the White House that used them, and I realize that this was truly a match made in heaven. The whole goddamn bunch are a ragtag mob of craven cowards and losers!
All of these far right extremists that couldn’t wait to get down and funky at the Capitol, when they inside info that the cops were unprepared and understaffed, are almost all screaming and begging federal prosecutors to cut them a deal, and they’d rat out their mothers to minimize their liability. Which is truly pathetic.
I grew up in Chicago, in the heyday of La Cosa Nostra, the Mafia. If a mobster got busted in the commission of a mob crime, he kept his fucking mouth shut! His silence ensured that the family would take care of his family while he was inside, and he would be welcomed as a returning hero when he got out. That’s why it was so hard for federal prosecutors to climb the ladder to the upper echelon, loyalty.
Now, look at the J6 committee. They have interviewed more than 400 witnesses, most of them voluntary, and they have provided the committee with documents, texts, and other evidence. The Loud Toys are supposed to be the ultimate hard asses. But stick them in a cage with a roomful or real hardasses for a few months, and all of a sudden, they’re all trying to cop a deal. The DOJ’s biggest problem is figuring out who has enough on bigger fish above them to make it worthwhile to cut a deal.
These cases are going to drag on for more than a year, And every step along the way, as decision day gets closer, more and more of these sewer rats will try to bail. This is truly sad. A ragtag bunch of mental misfits followed the lead of a Messianic fascist, and now all of us have to clean up the mess. Let’s just make ths national nightmare as painless as possible. Or maybe, as painful as possible, to serve as a reminder in the future.

You grew up in Chicago, Murf. I grew up where most of these losers were spawned from. Bullies, one and all, brave in a pack, weak by themselves. The moment that I saw their uncovered faces on J6, I had a suspicion the desire to be seen wasn’t going to end. When the backpedaling started a few days after, suspicions confirmed. So this going down like it is? No surprise at all.
Murph, it was the erosion of the code of “omerta” within organised crime which led directly to the decline and fall thereof, once the wiseguys started talking. And they started talking because the “family” no longer guaranteed support to guys standing up nor their families.
