Maggie Haberman took a little vacay from the Trump Publicity Beat to produce, along with New York Times reporter Luke Broadwater, a very informative piece in The Grey Lady that uses Emails recently obtained by the Times to take us behind the scenes, and into the fetid underbelly of a Trump Whitehouse striving desperately to cling to power … after the beatdown Team Biden put on them on Election Day 2020.

The article linked is not behind a paywall BTW so feel free to peruse it to your own satisfaction.

Boris Epshteyn (left, above) is the Moscow born political operative who served as a Senior Adviser to Trump’s 2016 Presidential Campaign, who transitioned to the Whitehouse after the debacle that was the 2016 election. But he only lasted a couple of Scaramuccis after it was revealed that he was the Jewish fella that wrote Trump’s statement for Holocaust Remembrance Day in Jan. 2017 that, gosh darn it, neglected to mention that it was Jewish folks that were Holocausted.

After that rather ignominious turn, Epshteyn quickly found new disreputable employment, hired on as a senior political analyst for Sinclair Broadcasting, the network whose self professed raison d’être was to be even more batshit right wing than Fox News.

When Trump ran again in 2020, he brought Boris back into the fold, because, you know, you can never have enough Russian-American political operatives on staff.

After Trump’s defeat, Epshteyn helped to coordinate efforts to keep der Grophinfuhrer’s fat, guilty ass safely ensconced in the Presidency, serving as a sort of go-between for seditionists… per the Emails:

“Mr. Epshteyn, the emails show, was a regular point of contact for John Eastman, the lawyer whose plan for derailing congressional certification of the Electoral College result on Jan. 6, 2021, was embraced by Mr. Trump.

Mr. Epshteyn not only fielded and passed along to Mr. Giuliani the detailed proposal for Jan. 6 prepared by Mr. Eastman, he also handled questions about how to pay Mr. Eastman and made the arrangements for him to visit the White House on Jan. 4, 2021, the emails show.

That was the day of the Oval Office meeting in which Mr. Trump and Mr. Eastman unsuccessfully pressured Mr. Pence to adopt the plan — an exchange witnessed by Mr. Pence’s two top aides, Marc Short and Greg Jacob, both of whom testified last week to the federal grand jury investigating the assault on the Capitol and what led to it.”

Mike Roman followed a more traditional route to Trump’s White House, starting his political career with The Republican Party in Philadelphia and working on the Presidential campaigns of George W. Bush, John McCain and Rudy Giuliani. He also served a stint as honcho for an in-house intelligence unit for the Koch Brothers where he kept tabs on “liberal” opponents of the Koch empire. He served briefly as an opposition researcher for the Trump Whitehouse before leaving in 2018, only to be brought back to try to subvert democracy for Fatass in 2020…

“The emails highlight how much of the legwork of finding ways to challenge Mr. Trump’s losses in the battleground states was done by Mike Roman, director of Election Day operations for Mr. Trump’s campaign.

Mr. Epshteyn and Mr. Roman, the emails show, coordinated with others who played roles in advising Mr. Trump. Among them were the lawyers Jenna Ellis and Bruce Marks; Gary Michael Brown, who served as the deputy director of Election Day operations for Mr. Trump’s campaign; and Christina Bobb, who at the time worked for One America News Network and now works with Mr. Trump’s PAC.”

Per the Wiki article linked above it was also Roman who did much of the leg work of trotting over the lists of fake electors from the Whitehouse to their seditionist allies in Congress:

“Roman has a history of making misleading and unsubstantiated claims about voter fraud. On Election Day in 2020, he posted baseless and deceptive claims of voter fraud. He delivered the list of false electors for Michigan and Wisconsin to US Representative Mike Kelly who provided them to US Senator Ron Johnson. Staff of Ron Johnson tried to get these lists to Vice President Mike Pence before the count of the electoral votes on January 6th, 2021.”

This article by The New Jersey Globe reiterates his actions on that day and reveals a connection to former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie:

“Michael Roman, a former Trump campaign operative who allegedly delivered lists of fake electors to the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, did work on Chris Christie’s 2013 re-election campaign and now heads the political operation of freshman Assemblywoman Beth Sawyer (R-Woolwich), the New Jersey Globe has confirmed.

POLITICO first reported on Friday that Roman, who ran Election Day operations for Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign, was the one who delivered false elector certificates to the chief of staff to a Pennsylvania congressman, Rep. Mike Kelly, in an attempt to get them to Vice President Mike Pence. It was Kelly’s staff that delivered the list to the office of U.S. Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wisconsin).

Records show that Christie for Governor paid Roman’s firm, MR&A, $2,000 as a consultant for “computers, accounting, etc.” one week after Christie was re-elected to a second term.“

Both articles are free to read and tell a very sorry story for American history. And the Times piece, in particular, reveals much more than I have covered here.

My only question is where does Trump turn over rocks to find these guys?

But I guess I kinda answered my own question…
