This is always entertaining to see, another custom made video designed to prey upon the neuroses of a very neurotic man indeed. It’s been a packed four and a half months for us, and we have the advantage of understanding what we’re involved in. Trump does not — not fully. Trump is like the Chauncey Gardiner character in Being There, he’s the center of the drama (that’s the part he loves) but he has zero appreciation of the dynamics involved. He’s too ignorant and intellectually incurious to inform himself about such things. (Fools rush in where wise men fear to go.) But like any ill-behaved child, he has enough instincts to know when he’s about to get in trouble for the latest thing he broke and he can’t lie his way out of it. And what he broke most recently was his connection to the biggest bank account on this planet. Ouch.

I read an article the other day where one of Trump’s sources was quoted as saying that Donald’s feelings were “genuinely hurt” by this “betrayal “of Musk’s. Not sure that I believe that. Call me a cynic but my belief is that everything Trump does is transactional. I believe that Trump is sad that Elon’s checkbook isn’t open to him anymore. That I believe.
I also believe that he’s more than a little annoyed that Elon says nasty things in public about him, like linking him to Jeffrey Epstein. That I totally believe. And I believe that all things being equal that Trump would prefer that Musk was out there lionizing him and telling everybody how wonderful he is.
But it’s not that way anymore. And Elon will continue to kvetch about the OBBBA and do what he can to see it defeated. And he might not stop there. Elon might very well form some third party or he might fund Democratic candidates or some variation on this general theme. So that’s a pain to Trump.
But not that much of one. Remember, Donald only ran for office again to avoid prison. He’s gotten the benefit of his bargain. Now he just wants to do the least that is humanly possible to get by for appearances sake and he wants to play golf.
And ironically, when the House passes to Democratic hands in 2026, Donald will be relieved. He doesn’t want to do any real work, he never has. He just wants to complain. And the more the Democrats get back in control, the more there will be to complain about. And the less he’ll legitimately be able to get done.
On some secret level in his *heart* (you know, the one that is two sizes too small) I think that Trump would be just fine if Elon Musk would fund a lot of Democrats. It works to Trump’s advantage when and if they win. And his own advantage is all that Trump has ever cared about.

Or Elon could decide that Trumpler’s threats of ending govt subsidies are real and that maybe just maybe he should tuck his neo-Nazi tail between his legs and come slithering back to Donald to kiss and make up. It’s all a game to these assholes.
