Neil Young, who was always surely in the running for everyone’s favorite Canadian, is now also vying to be everybody’s favorite Canadian-American as the man continues to rock in the free world, and must hope that this country remains free enough to speak one’s mind. He is speaking his. We already know what Young would likely think of Trump’s war on Canada. Now we know how the master thinks about Trump’s war on Bruce Springsteen. To be fair, we could have guessed.
To review, Bruce Springsteen is in the U.K. telling audiences just how dangerous this administration is to the rule of law and the nation’s deepest-held principles and promises. Trump was having none of it and screamed a warning at the Boss:
Bruce Springsteen has 17 platinum albums.Donald Trump has 6 golden bankruptcies.

So at the point that Bruce gets back to the country, we’ll “see how that goes for him”? That is a warning like few get and sends shivers up one’s spine. But that was just the beginning.
Yesterday, Trump widened his net, going after more than Bruce, but all his critics in the music world:
Trump is now going to have DOJ investigate Springsteen, Beyoncé, Bono, and Oprah.

I guess they’re all overrated in Donald Trump’s mind. Something like that.
Neil Young has seen all of this and couldn’t stay quiet any longer. He came rushing to Springsteen’s aid. Young wrote on his website late Monday.
“Bruce and thousands of musicians think you are ruining America. You worry about that instead of the dyin’ kids in Gaza,”
“That’s your problem. I am not scared of you. Neither are the rest of us. You shut down FEMA when we needed it most. That’s your problem Trump. STOP THINKING ABOUT WHAT ROCKERS ARE SAYING. Think about saving America from the mess you made.”
Oh, you know. I don’t mind if Donald Trump is fixated on what rockers are saying since none of them are saying anything good and no one – I mean no one – hates bad smack like Donald Trump. Knowing that some of the world’s favorite people are out there properly dissing Trump isn’t a bad thought. Of course, we only offer a countering view to a point we support from Young.
He closed it out, according to The Hollywood Reporter:
“Remember what the White House is? 86/47??? That’s what you think about,” Young further wrote, seeming to reference the White House response to a James Comey Instagram post last week. “You are forgetting your real job. You work for us. Wake up Republicans! This guy is out of control. We need a real president!”
Donald Trump doesn’t think that he works for anyone but himself. To the extent that he feels tied to anyone’s fortunes, it begins and ends with his own supporters. Neil Young isn’t on the list of people to whom Trump believes he has a duty. That would be true even if Young wasn’t Canadian!
Regardless, it is good to see Springsteen get backed up on this, and it comes from one of the very, very few musicians on Earth with almost as much credibility – something that must bother Trump. He keeps getting attacked by great people who are the best musicians. Underrated, if anything, even during a spring moon:

Zoomers, we are always in need of donations. It’s been an especially rough month, and my own health has not been great these past few weeks, which just adds to the frustration. Anything you can spare will be immensely appreciated. And thank you to all who have donated generously already. Ursula

Keep on rocking in the free world!!!!!! Thanks Neil for fabulous music since 1971 as a solo artist. Phuck that overweight nazi toddler.
