Once again, the J6 committee didn’t disappoint, and they even had their own Who shot JR finale plot twist. Their new evidence showed that not only the FBI, but the DC police and Secret Service had plenty of advance warning of violence at the Capitol. The committee has enough evidence to provide multiple criminals to the DOJ. They wrapped Trump up in a carpet of complicity for engineering the J6 riot, and dared the GOP to defend him.

But for me there were two major revelations today. Of course the first one was the bombshell revelation that the committee was subpoenaing documents and testimony from Traitor Tot. MSNBC had a nice steal of that today. They had their camera focused on the committee clerk when he read the resolution. Fallen officer Brian Sicknick’s brother was in the first row behind him, clearly in the shot. When the clerk read Trump’s name, Sicknick’s eyes got as wide as saucers, his mouth dropped open, and he silently mouthed, On, WOW!

From where I’m sitting, this subpoena is a total crapshoot, but also a brilliant tactical maneuver to play on Trump’s ego and sense of victimhood. If the committee really wanted Trump’s documents and testimony, they would have subpoenaed him in late July or early August, to give at least some time for the inevitable court challenges to play out. This was clearly something else. And I think I know what it is.

Ever since the first very well watched public hearing, Trump has been in a blind, spitting rage over the fact that there is nobody on the panel to take up his mantle. He has dumped buckets of shit over Kreepy Kevin McCarthy’s head for not making sure that there was at least one Trump flamethrower on the panel to make a mockery of the hearings. And he has used endless rallies in order to play the victimhood card, portraying himself as the victim of a Partisan Witch Hunt!

The J6 committee just took that pathetic argument away from him. They not only offered him the chance, they’re legally ordering him to come on in and defend himself. No more hiding behind mummies apron, Diaper Donnie. We’re full of shit, huh Donald? Here’s your chance. Don’t hide behind surrogates of flunkies, take the seat and defend yourself. Come on, we dare ya, we double decker dare ya! Cat got your tongue?

Now it’s up to Trump. By law, the subpoena will expire when the new congress is sworn in in January. Pretty much one motion in court will likely run out the clock on the subpoena. Now it’s up to Trump’s ego. I’m looking for J6 committee members to start appearing on tv with snide appeals for him to show up and defend himself. It’s all a bullshit witch hunt? Fine! Come on in with your proof, sit down, and show us how we’re so full of shitWe’ll even give you a nationwide television audience. I’m betting that Trump’s lawyers are ready to sedate him until next January, but since when has Trump ever listened to a lawyer in his life? We’ll find out when we find out.

But watching the hearing today, the confluence of the new and old evidence they presented gave me a sudden window into The Cheeto Prophet’s mindset and mental processes. Like a hunter, I’ve been stalking this diseased predator for almost 7 years now, and watching the evidence roll in today was like seeing a sudden group of stepping rocks that you can use to get across a river.

The first rock was that, all the way back in July, Trump could already see he was in trouble. The entire Massive vote fraud excuse was total, unadulterated bullshit. And here’s how we know. Back in July Trump told his campaign manager Brad Parscale that no matter what the results were late on election night, he was going to claim victory, and demand that the vote counting stop at midnight in each state, because it was no longer Election Day.

Testimony has already shown that Trump was fully well aware that the vast majority of GOP voters, even in a Covid year, tended to cast their votes on election day, which are the first ones to be counted. The majority of Democrats use absentee and early voting, which take longer to count, since same day votes typically go first.

Which means that Trump could claim victory late on election night, based on the results, and call for the cessation of vote counting, even if his own campaign was telling him that those leads would likely dissipate, and even disappear in the following days. Because this tactic allowed him to claim massive voter fraud when states continued to count legitimate ballots, even after election day had passed. The Big Lie was born, all the way back in July. But why bother? None of his bullshit court cases had any merit.

Here’s where Trump’s psyche comes in. The Trumpster Fire is mentally motivated by two simple things, public adulation, and money. My personal belief is that Trump hated being President, having people pressure him all the time, being under the spotlight, making decisions only to have them reviled. All Trump wanted was to appear before large, adoring throngs, and make a shitload off of money from it.

Which means The Big Lie. Trump would love to be elected President again in 2024, it would allow him to run more scams for profit, and also run out the clock on the Statute of Limitations on almost all of the federal crimes he’s under the gun for right now, if Garland doesn’t pull the trigger first.

But in the meantime, it’s business first. The Big Lie has allowed Trump to avoid humiliation for his own abject failure, and instead assures him continued large crowds of abject slaves to show up and roar with approval for him at every rally. It allows him to continue to play Kingmaker in the GOP. And most importantly, it allows him to continue to rake in massive amounts of money from the sheeple, providing him with a lovely Leadership PAC full of lovely lettuce for his own personal use.

Get this straight. It’s. All. Just. Another. Scam. Trump can live without the presidency, but he can’t live without public adoration and money. And so, all the way back in July of 2022, when Trump realized that he was probably going to be a 3 time loser, he set forth the mechanics of a plan to assure that his loss cost him neither his base, nor his fundraising. It’s all just another grift, and has never been anything else.

  1. The headline had me thinking of wisecracks to make about train tracks, wrecks, derailments and so on. But by the end I realized you have hit on the key point – the Big Lie was always, ALWAYS about the money. Hell, when you think about it from the moment he rode down his fake gold escalator at Trump Tower in front of a bunch of people who got a few bucks to be his crowd the whole thing was always about the money. Trump had visions of a new media venture, and once eliminated in the primaries being able to promote something other than his lame as “reality” TV show. Yes, it would have failed but this is Trump we’re talking about so he had delusions of grandeur about parlaying a victimhood inflicted by the GOP “establishment” into a major cash cow had potential. Most (including me) didn’t realize just how easily someone like Trump could tap into the denizens of what we now know as MAGA world and milk them for donations. Sure, he wouldn’t have raised as much as he’s been able to do if he hadn’t wound up in the WH but it would have been enough to ease a lot of his cash flow problems.

It’s said P.T. Barnum never said there’s a sucker born every minute but whether he said it or not it’s true. And Trump knew it. It’s also not as crazy as it sounds to think all those MAGAts out there would be fooled by a rich NY asshole claiming he was on their side. Let me remind you, Bush 43 was born into not just GOP political royalty but wealth, but he managed to convince all those working class GOP voters he was a “regular guy” just like them. So, Trump KNEW if could be done and while his faults and inadequacies are legion one thing for which he’s had an instinctive talent is self-marketing.

It was, and remains about the money. Only being shut off in a jail cell will cut off that flow of money. Even then it will take a while.

  2. I’m thinking dark thoughts. Someone close to me was recently diagnosed with a terminal disease. Almost every day since that news, I’ve been wondering why it wasn’t Trump who received that diagnosis. Bad enough for the country that he survived Covid; I say without apology or shame that he, not my friend, should be at death’s door. He’s an execrable human being and exists only to propagate pain. All the shit that comes down on him now is both deserved and inadequate to his, yes, evil.

    • My condolences to your friend and you, Ted. Many of us have thought “why (loved one) instead of Trump?” The only consolation is that he’s a miserable little man with a miserable little life. He’ll never truly be happy. I’m sure you and your friend were happy in each other’s company. You have that. Tubby cheeto likely never will.

  3. I have worked with real estate developers like the CHEETO KING. Ego dominates
their lives, the world revolves around them, everyone is expendable. Other developers are
sincere , thoughtful and want to contribute to society. This is a family of high class
grifters, daddy Cheeto training the rest of the family for future grifts under his influence and direction. Most of them lack any intellect.Money, status and grifter books can’t help with a soulless
person like the Cheeto king. Trump is so predictable, you kind of a know what his next move will be.
The worst part is the number of ignorant Americans who believe and buy into his crap.
That includes those Evangelical morons who think they are Christian’s , praising and following a non Christian. I didn’t think we had some many misguided Americans looking for leadership that can guide us thru our morass with Congress and direction of this country. That’s how bad the scenario is, voter’s grasping for someone to lead us out of the wilderness of despair with our democracy. Great perceptive article.
