If I was Kevin McCarthy right now, my knees would be twitching. Marjorie Taylor Greene has now done the impossible. She makes disgraced Olympics ice skater Tonya Harding look good. If you saw Marge’s performance in the peanut gallery last night, which has been characterized as a “drunk yelling at the mailman because the welfare check is late,” you know just what I mean.
Tonight, Matthew Dowd was punditing it up with Nicolle Wallace and he came up with the comment that Marge Greene was “Tonya Harding in a fur coat,” which is now in the process of going viral.
People are running to the defense of Tonya Harding, if you can believe that. I’ll defend Harding, too. At least she had innate talent and worked hard to develop it, she wasn’t a performance clown, despite her awful judgement and reprehensible conduct many years ago when she literally kneecapped rival Nancy Kerrigan and caused a horrific scandal.

And Cawthorn was the same way when he was there. And Herschel Walker was out of the same bolt of cloth as well. This time in history is going to be studied for centuries to come — unless this level of incompetence presages the fall of the republic and I certainly hope not. I hope it presages the fall of Trumpism, an insane political doctrine of political theater and a period which will be remembered for quite some time.
