You’ve heard the adage that a person who has himself for a lawyer has a fool for a client. Mo Brooks is proving the truth of that statement as we speak. Brooks filed paperwork seeking dismissal of Eric Swalwell’s lawsuit with the court, and his verification only speaks to the issue of what a perfect character he has. This has to be seen to be believed.

I don’t know why he thinks an unblemished DMV record or the fact that his kids never got divorced exculpates him from liability for inciting the insurrection at the Capitol but there you have it. He seems to be saying, “I’m the all American guy. I live a perfect life. My family is perfect. I’m out of a 50’s sit com, I’m so damn perfect. Therefore, inciting a riot must be perfect too.”

That’s my best guess. You’re welcome to take yours. Judges read a lot of strange paperwork in the course of their careers but I’m going to bet this gets passed around as a joke.

    • #9 isn’t the pro-Brooks statement he thinks it is. Most of us are aware that the House Ethics Committee is pretty toothless, and has been for the last 20 or so years. (Also 38 complaints is a *lot*.)

  1. It was obvious to everyone what the honorable Brooks was up to, most particularly the mob that had formed at the request of himself, the then president, and other GOP movers and shakers. And they fallowed precisely his instructions. If prosecutors are not seeking jail time I miss my guess. The bright spot in all this is that you can bet your bottom dollar that Mr. Brooks will be the most model prisoner ever, and the bestest jailhouse dad!
