Donald Trump came within an earlobe of his life on July 13th this year when a sniper somehow managed to evade the most stringent security available (At the time) and shot eight high-powered rounds straight down toward the podium in Butler, Pennsylvania. In that moment, had any of the bullets struck Trump square, our nation might have descended into civil violence, if not war. We can all be as grateful as Melania Trump that the shots near-miraculously missed.
Melania is – as she should be, very grateful. We are, too. Anyone who thinks this country would be better off had any attempt succeed in any way best leave this column right now. It is our gift that he continues on, hopefully toward defeat in a fair election. Melania seems to know all of this but she loses some of her credibility when she can’t just talk about the tragedy turned miracle. No, she quickly turned to hint at a conspiracy theory in her interview with Ainsley Earhardt on Fox and Friends this morning.
According to Mediaite’s transcript of the interview, it didn’t take Melania long to turn some eyes up away from the breakfast burrito:
There were few days, reporting about July 13th event and everything then became quiet. So I had a lot of questions. What’s going on? It’s this is not normal. And is it really shocking that all these egregious violence,. Goes against my husband, especially that we hear the leaders from the opposition party and mainstream media branding him as, threat to democracy, calling him vile names.
Hold up, hold up. We completely agree that both July 13th and the West Palm Beach golf course attempts were egregious acts of violence, absolutely intolerable and a lot of questions are coming from Congress, too. But what in this big blue world does the media have to do with anything? They went silent?? It is possible that the attempt might not have been absorbed viscerally the day afterward. We didn’t know how close a call he took. But as far as the media goes, things phased away mostly because he wasn’t seriously hurt and, more importantly, the Republican Convention started on July 15th. Had the coverage not shifted to the convention, Republicans would be complaining about ignoring it for splashy coverage of the attempt.
The media has absolutely nothing to do with any of this except for the fact that if Melania is unhappy about anything it always seems to be the media’s fault. There was no conspiracy behind the “silence” at all. Convicting the media and Democrats as having some agenda on the attempt is just, well – very hard to swallow, especially as Congress ramps up its investigation.
As for Democrats branding Trump as a threat to democracy, and calling him vile names, it’s best to look over the SUV seat to the man sitting there as the “instigator” to a ton of this. If name-calling is the problem, it starts there. Regarding threats to democracy, Melania would do well to hold her husband to account for the “dictator for a day” promise because it only takes about 30 minutes to sign 30 executive orders, all instilling the strong-armed state envisioned in Project 2025. And, if you really think about it, that promise has probably not gotten enough media attention.
But we digress because Melania had more to say:
They only fueling a toxic atmosphere and giving power all of these people that they want to do harm to him. This needs to stop. This needs to stop. The country needs to unite.
Well, the attacks and violence do absolutely need to stop, absolutely! But political attacks do not bring on that type of violence, only the deranged attackers themselves. There is no link there unless one gets back to conspiracy theories. Additionally, getting the country to unite has to be done on all fronts and it could easily start if Trump would stop hating all the people who simply won’t vote or support him. It would be great to hear a bit more outreach to all Americans whether carrying a baby-blue flag or not.
Again, Melania is right to grieve even a possible loss and has the right to be fearful of the country’s hyper-polarized condition and the attendant violence on many levels. But sliding into accusing the Left and the media as being the ultimate root of the problem, even going so far as to conspire against Trump, while breathlessly holding him out as the obvious solution, is more than a bit “rich.”
Speaking of which, all of this came out in an interview regarding her $250.00 book. It is a bad idea to conspire against consumers and the media while trying to sell such a mesmerizing piece of merchandise.

Considering how often his supporters have characterized Harris as an adulterer ( with the mayor of San Francisco), an attention wh*re, and a selfish woman who hates children, Melania can STFU.
mellie honey, were you paying any attention at ALL to the events of 6 January 2021? That is not how we exercise the transfer of power in this country. That IS however what is done when one is attempting a coup to overthrow a freely and fairly elected leader.
She’s a “dump”, what other than being disingenuous, cynical, self-serving, self-absorbed and a totally bad faith actor should anyone expect?
All the while, everyone knows that Melania was hoping that the first assassin had been a better shot so she’d have a better chance of inheriting far more of Donald’s limited cash. And all her posing that she’s done since has been just that: The expression of a narcissistic trophy “wife” who’s more concerned with the numbers in her bank account(s) and the potential loss of many digits if her “beloved” continues losing money to court judgments.
Melania’s acting may not win her any awards but her personality allows her to play many roles to get (and keep) what she needs.
Please knock this off.
