This is some desperate Hail Mary from the administration, getting Melania out there to publicly take a stance on the protests in Minneapolis. It’s also rather a transparent ploy to give Melania a chance to take to the airways so that she can promote her film which is premiering in three days. Whoever made this decision made a poor one.

Frankly, I’m not even sure what she said. But the gist that I got was that whatever happens it should be peacefu. Amen to that. Tell the ICE goons to stop drawing weapons and firing shots and that prayer should be answered with no problems.
Again, her main reason for being on camera is to hype the film, and the filmmakers themselves are hoping that it flops. Plus, there was a private screening of said film on Saturday night at the White House, the same day that Alex Pretti was gunned down in Minneapolis, and the optics of that are pretty lousy. But I don’t think she’s making them any better today.
To Melania I say STOP ‘First Ladying’ or whatever the hell we are supposed to call your version of the job. Just take your ill gotten money from Bezos, and the payout from your prenup for your years of (cough cough) serving Trump. Take it, STFU and just go away!
