Guns are the curse of this nation. The Second Amendment, the right to bear arms, to protect one’s home, has been warped and perverted beyond recognition. Now, it’s become a predictable pattern that on holidays, in particular, when people are joyful and enjoying one another’s company, the dark people, the ones who have no joy but have plenty of guns, go out into the streets and wreck the holiday for the rest of us — permanently, for some of us.

Depending on your age, you probably remember a time in the not so distant past when drunk driving on holidays was the menace. The installation of breathalyzers on the cars of people who have demonstrated to the court system that they cannot regulate the drinking and driving functions in their lives has been of great benefit to the cause of drunk driving. Now, it is time to regulate the guns. But there’s a keen difference between the two: there wasn’t a Drunk Driving Lobby or a National Drunk Driving Association, insisting and demanding that their rights to get drunk and get behind the wheel of a car superseded our rights to be on a safe highway.

This Memorial Day holiday ended the way it began, with gunfire. Friday afternoon on the beach in Chicago, gunshots were fired but nobody was injured. Monday night, around 7:00 p.m. local, seven people were shot, including a 15-year-old. Guns, the flag and apple pie should maybe be the new mantra for holidays. NBC News:

Three people were injured, two of them seriously, in Garden Grove, California, in a shooting Saturday evening at Hot Restaurant and Lounge. Garden Grove Police Sgt. Nick Jensen said the gunman got into an argument before he opened fire, NBC Los Angeles reported.

“There was some type of altercation, so it wasn’t someone that walked in off the street, and an altercation ensued, and the suspect pulled out a gun and shot three victims,” Jensen said. […]

Early Sunday in Atlanta, a teenager was killed and another was injured in a shooting at “an unauthorized gathering” at Benjamin E. Mays High School, Atlanta Public Schools said in a statement.

Police were called around 2:30 a.m. ET Sunday to the high school, where they discovered a 16-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy, both of whom had been shot. The girl died later. The boy was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was stable. […]

Later Sunday, around 11:45 a.m. ET, a person was killed in a shooting on a Green Line train at the Navy Yard station in Washington, D.C., Metro Transit Police tweeted.

“Unfortunately, despite lifesaving measures, the adult male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene,” transit police said.

You can hit the link to NBC and get the national rundown of gun works this holiday weekend. This is the new normal. Whereas there was a day and age where you wanted to consider what route you would drive so as to avoid the drunk drivers, now you have to try and figure out where the shooters might be. And that could be anywhere.

They show up on beaches, playgrounds, parks, in supermarkets, malls, bars, nightclubs, name a place where human beings gather to do any activity, and there’s where a lunatic with a gun can be waiting.

America has become a giant lottery. Every time you leave your house, you’re hoping and praying you don’t get shot. Think about that. A tipping point has been reached and America is at war. We live in a gun-demic.

  1. Hey American voter…how many dead children will it take for YOU to stop giving power to the Guns Over People party? Are you waiting for YOUR child to be turned into hamburger while coloring a turkey for Thanksgiving in the first grade??????? Over 4, 000 killed by guns in one year…every year now. A vote for a republican is a vote to kill a child…remember THAT when your ass is sitting in church, temple, mosque, wherever.

In a nutshell, that is exactly what is wrong with ‘the system’. It’s exactly like the big alcohol producers lobbying against drunk driving to enhance their profits.

The gun-makers and the armaments lobby have no morals.

  3. Hey to whomever gave my post a thumbs down. Go take a flying phuck at a rolling doughnut you fascist pig. You must be a child killer yourself.
