Today was an historic event and if this country has any luck whatsoever, it is one that will not be repeated again, hopefully ever. Mary Trump, who is in the best position to evaluate the psyche of her mad uncle Donald, weighed in on what she saw go down today in Manhattan.
Before she wrote this post, she chimed in on the ludicrous media coverage. Steve Schmidt, however, put it best. Schmidt said, “Now I know what happened to the white Bronco. It grew up, turned into an airplane and has different scumbags inside now.”
America saw a sea change of sorts, in the saga of Donald Trump. This encapsulates today best.
Then Donald flew back to Mar-a-Lago, where his first act was to attack the judge. His moronic namesake first born son, Junior, had previously rocked Twitter by posting a photo of Loren Merchan, the daughter of Judge Juan Merchan, on Truth Social, with the notation that she was a Democratic shill, in essence, and therefore the enemy. And this on a day when the judge specifically ordered that no attacks on public officials were to be made. Maybe Trump is headed for a gag order, who knows?

Then of course he went on with his usual list of grievances. Here’s a sampling of that but by no means his entire “address” which was expected to be some MAGA call to arms, the beginning of the American Revolution II, all that. No, instead what people got is what one tweeter called, “Whiny grandpa at the assisted living complaining about his cold oatmeal.”

There’s a piece of tape that I can’t find. Supposedly Trump admitted he lost the 2020 election. Damn, this is about the only thing I would like to hear him say: Raw Story:

And just recently, the FBI and DOJ in collusion with Twitter and Facebook in order not to say anything bad about the Hunter Biden laptop from him, which exposes the Biden family as criminals in which according to the pollsters would have made a 17-point difference in the election result, and we needed a lot less than that, like about 16.9. It would have been in our favor. Not my favorite, our favor, because our country is going to hell.”
Two historic events in one day. I’m not sure my mind can’t handle it.

Listened to a lot of reporting on this today, mostly MSNBC and the consensus seemed to be there would probably be no gag order because it was extremely difficult to get one in New York. ?? I didn’t quite get why that would be but most of the commentators seemed to agree. Anyone else know why?
I figure it’s for the same reason I can’t really stop my dog from barking at fire trucks: it’s a breed trait.
