Somebody check the weather report in Hell, it must be arctic conditions down there. Markwayne Mullin just said something sensible and true. Bookmark this incident because we may none of us live long enough to see this situation repeat itself. Mullin was on one of the news talk shows today and he addressed this grisly situation of members of the Young Republicans saying horrific things like “I love Hitler.” Mullin says no way that is acceptable and I heartily concur. If the next generation of Republicans growing up are identifying with Nazism, I believe I’ll pass as well.

Vance defended the group chat in an interview on “The Charlie Kirk Show” on Tuesday.

“Focus on the real issues,” Vance said during the show. “Don’t focus on what kids say in group chats.”

Mullin discussed the texts on CNN’s “The Arena” with Kasie Hunt on Wednesday afternoon.

“I didn’t hear the vice president’s remarks, but I would never let my kids joke like that,” Mullin said. “That’s a solid no.”

“My grandfather fought in World War II. He went over on Omaha Beach. He saw the despicable things that the Nazis did to not just the Jewish people, but to other countries and other races along the way,” Mullin added. “He went into a concentration camp…and so there’s no room to joke for me. It’s a hard stop that you’re not associated with me whatsoever if you think that’s funny.”

A lot of this is about teaching what Nazism was. Clearly, the school system has failed to do that. Those of us who had relatives and friends who fought in WWII knew what it was about. We knew who Hitler and the other Axis leaders were. We knew the monstrous things they perpetrated, things that weren’t seen since the Spanish Inquisition and not even then, as brutal as that was.

Mullin is right, which is something I have never said before, but on this occasion he is right and I hope his party listens to him. There are some red lines that cannot be crossed. Nazism is one. If America forgets who we were and what we fought for a mere 80 years ago, we are truly lost.

  2. Hey nazis…don’t forget you too can be shot and killed, since that’s your method of control. You may feel immune sitting on your ass talking shit. The streets are a different matter. Maybe ICE agents need dogtags. That’s how the 400,000 boys were identified who stopped these evil bastards in WW2.
