All of the stars of right-wingnuttia are out in force and have been since last night. They are all shocked, we tell you, shocked that Donald Trump has gotten indicted yet a fourth time. Trump’s a real man for all seasons, don’t you think? He’s got the indictment for falsifying business records and paying off a porn star, he’s got the indictment for the classified documents stashed in the crapper, he’s got the indictment for inciting an insurrection — and most people couldn’t top that track record. But Trump did. He is a real four-square criminal, bringing it home with a RICO indictment.

Enter Marge Greene to weigh in on how outraged she is. Now the irony here, is that for once, you will agree with Marge. Oh yes, you will. I haven’t flipped — yet — and you will agree with Marge when she says that “Fani Willis should be going after child traffickers, she should be going after rapists.”

You see how politics makes for strange bedfellows? You never thought when you woke up this morning that you would be agreeing with Marge Greene by sundown, now did you? And this is just the beginning. Unless I miss my guess, we are going to see a great many scenarios, just like this one. Why? Because the Trump Train is headed for its final destination, and no, I don’t know where that is.

He could be incarcerated. Fani Willis made it clear that this indictment is not pardonable unless a certain amount of time has been served. And he can’t pardon himself, this is a state charge.

He could vanish from politics. If/when he’s wiped out in November, 2024, and takes the GOP down with him, he might not be able to keep going with his MAGA grift. We don’t know, we can only speculate.

He could die. So could any of us, but not all of us are 77-years-old, morbidly obese, and under tremendous stress like Trump is. Even Joe Biden isn’t under anywhere near the stress Trump is. Biden is a head of state, yes, but he’s also a seasoned statesman. A lot of what he does is like the water going off the duck’s back, he’s in his element, he’s doing what comes naturally. And there’s a world of difference between the stresses of leadership and the stresses of running from the law.

Or, there’s another possibility and it goes along with option two, here, vanishing from politics. Trump might leave politics. He’s talking Mr. Tough Guy now and saying no plea deals, bla bla, but if and when the reality of the situation is presented to him, he’s going to do what any of us would, he’s going to keep himself free and in the sunshine and not go behind bars. And that may entail leaving politics.

We don’t know. We didn’t know when he came down the escalator, lo, on that fateful day that seems a century ago but it’s only been eight years, that any of this could happen. Our wildest fantasies at that point would not have been sufficient to predict what we have already seen come to past.

But these are the broad brush strokes. Whatever happens to Trump is going to come along these general lines. That much we can say with assurance — unless, of course, a flying saucer lands on the lawn at Bedminster and carries him off and frankly? As weird as the rest of this saga has been, that wouldn’t be all that surprising.

  1. My ability to feel surprise has been sorely tested with this guy.

I would be surprised if I could feel surprise with anything else he does

  2. I was having this conversation with a friend just last night. Personally, while a number of these yahoos are going to prison, Trump-O could possibly never see the inside of a cell…..and that would be ok with me.

…..but in that case, that guilty plea deal would include a suspended 30 year sentence, with the condition that he never run for, or accept the nomination to run for any elected or appointed position for the remainder of his life, agreeing to be banned from all political dealings, and be barred from using any electronic communication device, take no interviews, and publish no written words for the remainder of his life lest suffering implementation of full sentence be imposed.

    I could get behind that.

    • Throw in house arrest with an ankle monitor for, say, five years, and I am with you. He can even play golf. I want him barred from office and unable to.whine or complain except to Melanoma and the kids. Taking bets on whether Melanoma will put up.with him or redo.the prenup? Is there a,clause in the current one about his being foundvguilty? Will.she divorce him.or hope he dies? I suspect she will.opt for inheritance because it means she automatically gets half the estate? On the other hand, his legal.bills may be so high there won’t be much, just a paltry ten or fifteen million to inherit.

  3. Sorry, no plea deals can be allowed for Traitor Tot!! Spending the rest of his mis-spent life in supermax prison being forced to watch and listen to Randy Rainbow videos 24/7/365 is the LEAST that he deserves!!!

Vindictive aren’t I, he he he!

  4. Having grown up with a Dr. Jekyll/ Mr. Hyde drunk, armed to the teeth, who pushed his loving wife one time too many, resulting in him being shot with his own gun, I understand how one can adjust to the unimaginable if your daily reality goes on for YEARS. I still forget the amount, frequency, and intensity of the violence. After all these years of this nazi toddler, all of us have adapted to the evil. From my perspective, we’ve all become abused children. We have been psychologically battered for years, and its taken a toll on each of us. I know the feeling. You’re stuck in a crazy reality you can’t escape from, you can only survive and hope for a better day. The only mistake is to give up. I decided a long time ago that wasn’t an option. I was right then, and it’s still the right thing. I have lived through the suicide of a housemate, and I always describe it as a psychic hand grenade, it blows up everyone’s reality. Trump’s toxicity has not only literally killed hundreds of thousands, but has damaged all our ideas of the promise of the future. He causes despair, depression, despondency, and feelings that have no label but darkness. The only mistake is to give up. The greatest revolutionary act is to keep on keeping on. Pericles defined courage thus: Those who can truly be counted brave, are those who know what is sweet in life, and what is terrible, and then goes out undeterred to meet what is to come. Let’s love ourselves, our family, our friends, and especially our children by meeting tomorrow with courage. Let’s do it no matter how dark it seems at the moment. Even darkness crumbles in the face of change. This too shall pass no matter how many lies are told, or by whom. As Jimmy Stewart said in his great speech, in Mr. Smith Goes To Washington, playing a green congressman being overrun by a corrupt senator he admired, “You think I’m licked? Well I’m not licked! I’m gonna stay right here and fight for this lost cause, even if this room gets filled with lies like these!” Our cause is life. Their’s is death. I can’t speak for anyone but myself, but I didn’t come this far just to give in or give up. If I want my children to endure, and have hope, I have to be a role model for endurance and hope. I believe that in the marrow of my bones. I hope you do too. If we stand together, we WILL prevail. Their lies will not.

  5. I’m waiting for the people who have been convinced to donate to him to realize he is a billionaire who could sell a building to pay his debts and when that story comes out, I hope it goes the way of Steve Bannon as his fraud isn’t just claiming votes, but claiming he needs money.

    • Yes, he’s got assets that in theory at least he could sell. More on that in a minute. What many don’t realize is that while he LOVES plastering his name in big gold letters on buildings much more often than not he doesn’t actually own them – he merely owns the right to MANAGE them. IOW a lot of those buildings aren’t his to sell. Now yes, he does own some of them and some golf properties too. Doral resort is a dump, and the course which was once a regular tour stop but not all that popular with players to begin with got “tricked up” by Trump to suit his preferences and most top pros stopped playing in the event that was known as The Doral. Bedminster and Turnberry over in Scotland are still decent enough places/courses. However it would get interesting if Trump tried to sell. Turnberry and at least one other course in the UK were purchased at greatly inflated cost and Trump didn’t have any legitimate financial institution lending him the money. And there were comments by both sons to different golf writers long ago about getting money “from Russia.” I think it’s likely Trump would have to pay off one or more oligarchs to be able to sell. Given the pressure he’s under he wouldn’t get anywhere near top dollar for anything he owns, or “owns” and after paying off what his oligarch sugar daddy(s) would demand that wouldn’t leave much if anything (probably nothing) for legal fees.

That my friend is a huge part of why he’s fought to keep his taxes (which would include a lot of supporting records for the various “schedules” in them hidden. He’s got serious financial AND cash flow (especially) problems. He’s rich in a sense, but in what’s called a “heavily leveraged” way – creditors helping to prop him up in hopes of getting at least some of the money he owes them back. And it’s not just banks he’s leveraged to/by. There are those folks from Russia, and Trump has to be terrified of a team of former Spetnaz coming up from the surf at Mar A Lago some dark night, taking out his Secret Service detail and spiriting him away. It’s not as crazy a thought as it sounds.

  6. Yes Nancy that is a fact. I can’t imagine, and my story says I should be able to, but I can’t imagine the suffering he put those children and families through. Many are still lost because they did it for cruelty sake, and, therefore created NO tracking system to ever reunite them. Then to have these so called ‘xtians’, as spike calls them, think HE’S a righteous man???? It makes my blood boil.
