After a five hour standoff with police, Floyd Ray Roseberry has surrendered. You can see him crawling away from his truck and towards police in the photo above. My apologies it’s not a better shot, we work with what we have. Roseberry’s home in North Carolina is being searched for signs of making explosives and the Department of Homeland Security is talking to his wife.
Most importantly, it appears at this time that his boast of “four other” car bombs in the area was just that, a boast.
Roseberry is reportedly a registered Republican and a MAGA who participated in at least one rally to overturn Joe Biden’s election. What I find curious is that he said he didn’t care if Donald Trump was reelected but he also is asking the Democrats to stand down. Who does that leave?

These incidents are all playing on the issue of white grievance. I don’t know what it will take for some folks to realize that they haven’t been short-changed any more or worse than POCs.
In fact, most of the time white people are doing much better.
It’s that they think “those people” are getting more than their fair share – which apparently is “as little as we can get away with”.
I’m realizing that there are a LOT of dumb people in this country. That’s bad enough, but these same people think they are experts on every goddamn thing from history to ‘God’. Irony & hypocrisy are lost on them. Time for the big stick. Let’s play whack a cult member.
It’s appalling, but what is disgusting is how goddamned many of them are related to me.
74 million really really DUMB people at least! And a big problem is that they do not realize how dumb they are, they actually think that they are smart! At least I am smart enough to realize that there are people (like Ursula, Murfster, etc…)who are smarter and better educated than me, and I know to listen to them most of the time!
The authorities are saying he had some propane tanks in the back of the truck, but they aren’t saying more than that yet.
Of course I put the majority of the blame for this on the suspect. However, this is also partially the responsibility of Trump, the GOP and right wing media. This is what happens when you lie and foster discord.
Actually, I’d switch the folks to blame. This is more on Trump, the GOP and right wing media because THEY know it’s all bull crap and they’re counting on the deluded (like the suspect here) to act on the bull crap. When the Aryan churches’ leaders were preaching the evils of Jews and Blacks, they were counting on members of their congregations to take action while the leaders themselves pulled the “Who would’ve thought these people would take our words so seriously?” card and escaped any punishment (meanwhile, the men who listened to the rhetoric and took action inspired by the rhetoric went to prison, reveling in their “martyrdom” which the church leaders used for new recruitment–lather, rinse, repeat).
Trump, the GOP and right wing media are pulling the same garbage. They’re just “making statements” and it’s “not our fault” when someone “misunderstands” and initiates violence. (In the meantime, they turn right around and hold these people up as “victims” of a liberal media.)
