If I was an anthropologist from outer space, doing an incognito survey of this planet, I would find it amazing how many people have decided to abandon science and embrace conspiracy theory. And I would find it no more amazing than when it comes to climate change and the coronavirus, both of which are existential threats.
Every single day there are new death bed confessions from people who believed the nay sayers, didn’t get vaccinated and ended up in the ICU. Here’s just one example.
Travis Campbell from his hospital bed in VA: “This place was basically empty last week, but now it’s full. This Delta strain is something else. If you thought you could sit down and say your goodbyes and plan your funeral, or get the covid vaccine, which would you do?” pic.twitter.com/7Nt6eJdnpk

Contrast that with this clown.
Proudly unvaccinated Desantis ally, congressional candidate, attorney, and State Rep. Anthony Sabatini says that doctors and medical professionals who advocate masking and vaccines “have no understanding of the science whatsoever.” pic.twitter.com/x5mkDNcwMP

There are people who listen to this guy, unfortunately. And frankly, I would bet he has had the vaccine. I would bet that he, Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, Marjorie Taylor Greene, the lot of them have taken steps to protect themselves and they’re just telling other people a lie because it suits them politically. That is the plain ugliness of this situation.
Here’s Governor Phil Murphy talking sense.

Ron DeSantis, needless to say, won’t declare a state of emergency in Florida, even though it is now the epicenter of the pandemic, and is a pandemic of the unvaccinated.
How weird this is going to get, nobody knows. DeSantis polls are tanking. In the last one he polled 49% disapproval to 44% approval of the job he’s doing. That’s why he went bonkers and lashed out at Biden this morning, but the bottom line is if people see other people being hospitalized and dying around them, they are likely to focus on what the governor is doing with respect to health care during a crisis than about some CT about border policy.
DeSantis could be in trouble. High time. This guy is, as Donald Trump likes to say, a disaster.
DeSantis calling out Biden makes DeSantis look worse – Biden was talking about *all* the GQP governors who have done little or nothing to slow the pandemic. (When you take it personally, you’re making it clear that you know you’re in the wrong.)
I have to admit to vaccine-hesitancy. I have never gotten a flu shot and in the past 25 years, if I had the flu, it was so mild that I didn’t notice. Also, I don’t trust the FDA. Looking at the number of class-action suites for drugs receiving full approval, I was uncomfortable with one that was fast-tracked. I still am.
Two factors changed my mind and I got my first jab on Tuesday. One factor was the Delta strain, but a major one was Tuck (the cuck) Carlson and folks like him. Looking at the sane, logical people telling us to get vaxxed, and the raving loonies screeching about a Soros/Gates global mind-control plot, the choice is pretty clear.
At least now it should be easier to keep track of my keys 🙂
BTW, somebody should tell “Science Karen” that keys made in the past century are made of brass alloy and thus not affected by magnets. She just had oily, sticky skin.
The Science Karen probably had a bit of that transparent tacky adhesive on her skin. It worked in during her little rehearsal, but after her brief speech and just in time for her demonstration, it had dried enough that it didn’t work anymore. Remember the clip? Her problem was the key did not stick. As she slapped it on her chest, she said triumphantly, “how do you explain that?” whereupon it immediately fell off.
I seem to remember it the other way around, The key stuck to her chest, but she fumbled, tried, and failed to stick the paper clip (far less surface area than a key) first to where she stuck the key, then on the side of her neck.
Clueless, she continued with her rehearsed spiel asking “can somebody explain this to me?”. Ooh, I can. You’re an idiot.
LOL …loved it !
Death Sentence’s polling numbers are really going to crater when more and more children end up hospitalized because of his mind-numbingly stupid order to schools that they cannot mandate masks, implement social distancing, etc. unless they want to lose their funding.
Funny-you’ve got G.Q.P. governors all over the place on this one-Alabama’s gov blaming the unvaccinated for our current woes on one hand and FL and texass’ govs doing everything they can to kill as many of their citizens as possible.
Didn’t DeSantis get vaccinated in April? So how come it’s OK for him but not for the people of Florida?
Don’t ask a question if you already know the answer. That sort of question is a very common method for introducing a false assertion into the discussion, and then proceeding as if the assertion were true. Since the assertion is in fact correct, just use a declarative sentence. DeSantis got vaccinated in early April. In July, DeSantis strongly recommended everyone get vaccinated. It is fair to ask what took him so long.
