The battle lines are being drawn here with some clarity, folks. The video you’re about to see is compelling, as usual. It makes quite a statement, as Lincoln Project spots always do. But the real commentary worth noting is from the angry MAGAs down thread. They’re just fine with Trump the sexual assaulter, the rapist, the man who treats women as second class citizens, sub-human, even, there for his consumption, just like his inherited money. They can’t wait for him to get back in, in point of fact.
The message? There’s a lot of this society which is locked into a sick, paternalistic, misogynistic mindset and that’s who Trump appeals to. This ad, however, speaks to the rest of us. And we are saddened and appalled by its truth.

Going back to the people in the thread, there are comments like, “What will you do when he’s duly elected in 2024?” and “Yet another dollar for Trump. Say his name again.” “The more he is persecuted the more likely it is that your worst nightmare will come true.” And of course there’s the obligatory quip about how this ad, like everything else, is done in order to distract from the real order of the day, which is investigating Hunter Biden.
We are tragically divided. And the real tragedy is that so many Americans choose to deify a man who is emotionally stunted, intellectually dwarfed, morally bankrupt, and who has screwed up anything he ever got his hands on, whether it was a cash business like a casino or the levers of power in this country.
Yet they want more. They seriously want four more years of Trump — or a lifetime appointment of Trump. I have no doubt that if he got back in power, that card would be on the table and jimmy pronto, too.
So they’re stupid enough to think that Americans want a proved serial liar, serial rapist, serial fraudster, and serial seditionist as their President. Almost the only thing he hasn’t done is murder, although he has bragged he could murder someone if he wanted.
Oh wait, there is mass murder. How many people did he kill by his appalling mishandling of Covid 19 ?
Enough to give America the worst excess death record in the world.
We can only assume he’s the best they’ve got.
Everyone else is worse?

This is the craziest election yet, if you think about it. Yes, 2016 was nuts. You had Trump the joke vs. Hillary the unpopular. Hillary had been the victim of a 20-years plus smear job. She was loathed by the right wing. A lot of people voted for Trump because they bought his b.s. and they figured if the GOP nominated him, he had to be qualified right? Wrong.
Then in 2020, of course he would run for reelection, being the incumbent. But now? With the legal headaches, the indictments that are here and the others that are to come, all this baggage and he’s STILL the nominee?
This is beyond mental. I don’t know how to characterize this.
The Covid deaths/illnesses probably did not have to be as bad/high as they were. I say probably because much of the problem lay with the people’s own asininity. Look, this is not a country where you’re going to get away with the tactics China used-it isn’t going to happen ever I don’t care how bad the pandemic that will follow Covid, and another is coming. About the only things he could have done differently that might have made a difference would have been to listen to the experts, communicate that information to the public, and get the medical stuff the hell out of the hands of Jar-jar. Had Hillary won the election in 2016 I’m not sure the death rate would have been all that much different given the fact that many Americans will act against their best interests-deadly or not. In fact, I’m willing to bet had Hillary been leading the country during Covid, there would have been more push-back against closing the country, mask requirements, and the vaccine because of how little she was trusted by much of the country.
I’m not by any means trying to defend former guy: most of his actions throughout his life are indefensible. I’m just saying much of the Covid damage would have occurred regardless of who was in the w.h. during the height of the pandemic. Too many Americans are singularly stupid and even worse are proud of their stupidity. The pandemic was going to be politicized because politicians are the stupidest people of all. It was a perfect storm and would have been horrible-President Hillary or former guy.
Serial bankrupt, convicted rapist, twice-impeached, twice criminally indicted, with two more pending. Couldn’t get a job shoveling manure at a pig farm, yet he’s running for the highest job in the country. What is wrong with this picture?
Let’s not forget the six or seven people that died as a result of his having allegedly conspired to mount a seditious attack on our government.
one of the girls he allegedly raped “disappeared”. I’m not sure he hasn’t committed or ordered an actual murder (he’s a mob boss, he has people for that).
