For the nth time I must observe, nobody would believe life in Trump world if it was written as a script. Today Trump world met Water World, literally. 911 calls came pouring in to the Sheriff’s Department as boats in a Trump boat parade on Lake Travis in Austin, Texas began to sink. Not just one, several.
TCSO responded to multiple calls involving boats in distress during the Trump parade on Lake Travis. Several boats did sink.

Several boats have sunk on Lake Travis in Austin because they were being “unruly” and not following the rules, according to EMS. A bunch of people are having to be rescued. Guess what these people are doing? A trump rally boat parade ?

Ain’t it grand? Rescue swimmers, divers. My God, it sounds like an old Irwin Allen disaster movie. And he did TV, too. Remember, “Voyage to the Bottom Of The Sea?” We could do a spin off, “Voyage To The Bottom Of The Campaign.”
We’ll get an atomic submarine and call it the Trumpview. It will be powered by a combination of Douglas Adam’s Improbability Drive and Trump’s polls. And the captain will look at the polls coming in and intone, “Dive, all dive” and the Trumpview will just keep going down, down, down, knowing no bottom, as indeed Trump the man does not.
Life comes up with metaphors that writers wouldn’t dare.
Just saw this and have to resist the impulse to shake my head repeatedly upon hearing. One right-wing Twitter twit who I will not name was suggesting that this was deliberate sabotage by dark forces. No, it’s more likely that god too many evangelicals don’t actually know sending a clear signal on how he’s anything BUT on their side.
If we want to get metaphorical about this administration, in the past four years there have been any number of noteworthy celestial events. There have been eclipses, blood moons, comets, near misses by asteroids. I haven’t had the time to calculate it all yet, but I can tell you as somebody who looks through telescopes and keeps an eye on these things, this is atypical. I even said to one evangelical years ago, “It says in Genesis that God made the heavens ‘to give signs.’ Maybe he’s giving signs he doesn’t like Trump.”
For real, Ursula…these people suffer Cassandra Derangement Syndrome. By that, I mean that they are given the signs and the proof and they STILL don’t believe it. Driving boats at a speed that creates maximum-height waves is stupid, even if you want to “own the libs”.
(I noticed that the boats that were swamped were mostly *not* flying flags for Himself. Also not many masks, and a lack of lifejackets, which should be required there as they are in CA.)
Also this is a lake with a lot of boaters on a holiday weekend. Having a high-speed parade at the same time isn’t exactly a sign of good planning.

I hope there is plenty of video of Trump Trash swamping smaller boats. One of the oldest rules of the sea is that the larger vessel yields to the smaller vessel. I also hope lawyers were passing out cards on the docks.
That would make a great scene in a movie. Some day this is all going to end up in a movie. Or many movies, more than likely. Everybody is just waiting to see how the Story of Trump ends.

There is some – the smaller boats were off to the sides, mostly. The reports were problems at Emerald Point (the first loop north of the dam), Paradise Cove (about the third loop, 20 miles from Emerald Point), and West Beach.

Well, trump supporters create a situation where a gun is useless and they call on the socialist 911 system and fire department. They should be ashamed of being such snowflakes and lacking in integrity. Actually glad no one was hurt but the hypocrisy is appalling.
