Ahh, and here I thought I would get through the night and not write an Onionesque headline. What was I thinking? We’re still living in the Era of Trump and Trump world is spewing out its latest false factoid. This one is substantially weirder than most of them, but on the other hand, considering that a photoshopped image of Trump throwing a football was released yesterday, this comes as not all that much of a surprise. Are you ready?

“Here he is to save the day, to rescue us all, weighs 215 (in each leg) over six feet tall.” Heeeeeres Trumpty! 

This is an interesting Twit-X account. They come up with some doozies. This one has been around all day today, naturally.

I think it’s interesting that Patriot Takes characterizes this account as “fake” because my personal take on it is that a lot of the MAGAs believe all of this. They want to believe, like Fox Mulder.

I published a piece this morning on how World Wresting Entertainment has conditioned people to buy Trump’s B.S. It hasn’t gotten read a lot, to my chagrin. This isn’t about ego or even money, although we need every click we can get. You really need to see how what Trump sells and what MAGA buys is totally the fantasy world of fact mixed with fiction. It is a cultural sickness and it derives in large part from the world of wrestling, believe it or not. Here’s what I’m talking about.

Trump fans, like modern wrestling fans, understand that most things Trump says aren’t real:

THIS [WRESTLING] ECOSYSTEM ALLOWS PEOPLE TO DO HORRIBLE THINGS AND STILL SUCCEED, EVEN AMONG PEOPLE WHO ARE OFFENDED BY THE THINGS THAT ARE BEING DONE AND SAID. BECAUSE YOU OPERATE FROM THE ASSUMPTION THAT EVERYTHING YOU’RE SEEING IN THE RING IS FAKE, OR AT LEAST MOST OF IT. AND THAT’S DANGEROUS, BECAUSE ONCE YOU’RE ASSUMING EVERYTHING’S FAKE, EXCEPT FOR THE THINGS YOU WANT TO BELIEVE ARE TRUE, THEN YOU’RE JUST HAVING A GRAB BAG, PERSONALIZED REALITY. SO YOU CAN GO, IF YOU’RE A TRUMP VOTER, “TRUMP MEANS IT WHEN HE SAYS [X], BUT HE DOESN’T MEAN IT WHEN HE SAYS [Y].” AND ONCE YOU START JUST PICKING AND CHOOSING WHAT YOU THINK REALITY IS FROM A GRAB BAG OF TRUTH AND LIES THAT YOU CAN’T DISTINGUISH BETWEEN, THEN YOU’RE IN REAL TROUBLE AS A SOCIETY. EVERY INDIVIDUAL PERSON IS JUST PICKING THEIR OWN HODGEPODGE REALITY.

THE NEO-KAYFABE MINDSET IS, “TAKE IT SERIOUSLY, BUT NOT LITERALLY.” TAKE THE EXCITEMENT AS SOMETHING THAT IS A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH, BUT DON’T ACTUALLY BELIEVE ANY OF THE CONTENT. THAT’S WRESTLING. YOU’RE GONNA HAVE A THRILL, BUT DON’T ACTUALLY BELIEVE ANYTHING THAT’S HAPPENING, EXCEPT FOR THE WHISPERED PART, WHICH IS, EXCEPT BELIEVE THE PARTS THAT YOU WANT TO BELIEVE, THOSE PARTS ARE TRUE. AND THEN PEOPLE CAN JUST COMPLETELY LOSE THEIR MINDS.

That’s the point I want to make. When people can’t distinguish reality from make believe, we’re in a world of hurt. And we are. We now read stories, routinely in fact, where a 3-year-old shoots his infant sibling or a 7-year-old shoots a 3-year-old, or there was one case where a 6-year-old shot his teacher. I’m sure you’re familiar with this. I believe that this is happening because kids see guns on TV and guns are toys. Let’s play with guns. Oh wait…people get hurt? They don’t ever get back up again and appear in a different TV show next week? This is the part of this phenomenon I find horrifying. And I do agree with the author who was interviewed here, that Trump knows how to push the same buttons as WWE. Trump is besties with Vince McMahon and has been on WWE, many times.

But back to Aaron Rodgers, Trump’s even more of a specimen of manhood than he is. Oh, yes.

The cut off portion of the tweet reads, “6’2” which means that Trump’s an inch taller than Rodgers, and he weighs less. I would have never guessed but we have to believe Trump’s self-reported stats, right?

And yes, of course it gets worse.

“John Glenn, who? And didn’t he become a senator or something lightweight? And who’s that other guy, Mark Kelly? And Harrison Schmitt and Jack Swigert, who ever heard of them? They’re nobodies, I’m the only one who became president.”

Actually it may be time to shut off the computer. This is getting too weird.

I think puddums here has the right idea. Call it a night. Sheesh.

    Thinking is hard. Especially critical thinking for yourself because you’ve had an education that allows it provides it makes it necessary. The Republican party has made it clear since Reagan, especially that they don’t want Americans to think. They just want them to accept what’s fed to them. And so way too many of them have because they have been systematically deprived of knowing better and then there’s just good old American laziness.
    Yet today, everyone has a computer in their pocket, but no interest in finding out information other than what appeases them. Willful ignorance sadly, is the norm.

  4. Ah Ursula. Another fan of Fox Mulder. There are times I start looking for the cameras. Especially when Cheeto is involved. It would be good entertainment except for it’s not a movie and the Cheeto is going to either win in twenty four or he’s going to do something stupid. Whichever trump clown was out preaching that if trump doesn’t win in twenty four twenty eighty will be bullets and guns or some crap. I don’t think the clown is going to wait that long. Hell Melanie is on the verge of divorce so he’s going to be out raping and pillaging the countryside, in the name of god and the Queen. Oh yeah, we don’t have one of those. To bad, it sounded good. But back to reality. What I’m seeing is that one way or another Trump plans on being president in twenty five. And what you have here is a platform where just maybe you can amuse a few people with your over used jokes. And just maybe on a good day change the minds of a few people that happen to stumble upon the channel.
