This is certainly a gem. They are sick and tired of Trump’s bullshizzle towards the mail. They are pissed. And he forgets they’re part of American voters too. Anyone who actually voted for Trump is likely really regretting it now. He is so obsessed with anything involving the mail and America that it’s beyond ridiculous. As hard as Trump tries to redirect so no one will notice he’s trying to rig voting, it’s not working. Midterms will happen the way they are supposed to, by hook or by crook. No, not *that* kind of crook. My compliments to Raw Story:
The American Postal Workers Union swung back at President Donald Trump this week with a new national television advertisement blasting his attacks on mail-in voting and describing why it’s so important to Americans, The Hill reported. In the spot, “America Needs Vote by Mail,” the campaign features everyday Americans — a flight attendant, college student, and farmer — identifying why they rely on absentee ballots.
The 30-second commercial is sponsored by the 200,000-member union and starts airing in Ohio this week, where the first mail-in ballots were cast in 1864 by Union Army soldiers, according to The Associated Press. After that, the campaign moves to other states.
The message of the advertisement is clear: “Vote by mail. Keep it. Protect it. Expand it.”
Gotta love it! Mail-in voting *is* important to a whole lot of people who may not have the ability to go to an actual polling location. How about all our troops that are out of the country at the moment? That’s not a small number. Or the folks who live in rural areas? The people who are housebound or bedbound. We can keep going all day when making a list of sorts of people who need mail-in voting. Trump is trying to kill it. Well, a bunch of those using mail-in could be Republicans, MAGA, “his” people. But he’s not thinking of that. Why would he?
The union’s counteroffensive comes as Trump ratchets up his assault on voting access ahead of the midterms. Late last month, he signed an executive order to restrict mail-in ballots, demanding that states create voter eligibility lists and limiting absentee voting to names on those lists.
Trump doubled down on his debunked claims about widespread mail-voting “cheating,” despite zero evidence supporting the allegation. Democrats then filed a lawsuit to block Trump’s executive order.
He really is completely obsessed with mail-in voting. He’s putting all this time and effort into blocking it. The rest of us don’t have any problems with it. And Trump is trying to find a way to rig the midterms for the “regular” voters. We’re so excited to know they may be sending ICE to polling places. What a load of hooey. Stay out of the way, boyos.
“Our Constitution’s Framers anticipated this kind of desire for absolute power,” Democratic election lawyer Marc Elias said in the complaint.
“They recognized the menace it would pose to ordered liberty and the ways in which it would corrode self-government like an acid.” “And so, to preserve the People’s own sovereignty, they crafted a system of government to resist that threat,” Elias added.
Trump continues to stomp all over the Constitution. He’s tried to have it overthrown. He’s tried to revise it in his image. He wants all voting to be approved by him. He wants control of America. As much as we’re being slammed with inflation, taxes, tariffs, and energy prices, he cannot control our spirits. He can bitch, moan, complain, rant, rave, babble, and bluster all he wishes. We shall overcome.
See you soon!
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of elderly, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

Perhaps some Democratic politicians should DEMAND that Drumpf abide by his own “executive order” and fly his fat butt to Florida every single time there’s an election being held. Why should his lardness get to vote by mail when he doesn’t want others to do so? It’s called “leading by example,” Herr Drumpf.
(I’d also add that he should have to pay for the use of Air Force One out of his own pockets. The cost for the pilots’ time, the cost of fuel, the cost of his security to ensure he doesn’t have to mingle with the hoi polloi and other assorted riffraff and rabble. Every single nickel should come from Drumpf’s personal bank account.)
Hmmmm. Who could we send this to? Because it’s certainly applicable!
I would *love* to have him be forced to pay. That would make me ridiculously happy. He deserves it. SOB is a billionaire now.
Trump, in public, took a presidential oath of office includes a commitment to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution. According to Article II, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution, the oath states: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States”. OK, what is the punishment for breaking that oath? And, is it treason?
