When I wrote yesterday about Kamala Harris’s Democratic acceptance speech tonight, I had written that I expected that Harris would rely on the fact that her attack dogs had done the job of ravaging Traitor Tot, and largely ignore His Lowness in order to introduce herself and her story, and concentrate on her optimistic vision of the future.
But I underestimated the woman. I misunderstood the simple fact that the woman is at heart a prosecutor. And while she took the time to introduce herself, her humble middle class upbringing, and her family, and while she presented her inspirational, uplifting vision for the future of the United States, like any good prosecutor, she took her largest venue for her message, and spent some of it prosecuting Donald John Trump.
And since she had neither the time, nor the national attention to present her case in chief, instead she went straight to her closing argument against Trump, salting the mine for the September 10 debate, her next best chance to rake Traitor tot over the coals with a national audience.
And it was a brutal takedown. Thankfully Harris eschewed any personal insults, letting the attack dogs’ work stand for itself. Instead she reminded the American jury of Trump’s myriad of crimes, from Trump University to his sexual assault civil conviction, to his 34 criminal convictions in Manhattan. Fortunately the United Center crowd was too smart to embarrass her by chanting Lock him up! Lock him up!
But then she pivoted to his smallness, his fear, his inadequacies and toadying as a human being on the international stage. She slammed him for telling Putin to Do whatever the hell he wanted while Ukraine fought for its survival. She lambasted him for his coddling to dictators like Xi and Kim Jong Un, and brutalized his disdain and disgust for the American heroes who keep us free and safe every day.
And then she indicted him for the myriad of Project 2025 offenses, from dismantling the US government to betraying our allies, from weaponizing the DOJ to eliminating the Department of Education. From a national abortion ban to the mass deportation of 11 million people to detention camps.
And then, and only then did she appeal to our better angels. A positive, uplifting of a brighter American future. A future of equal opportunity, dreaming big, a woman’s autonomy, and the military protecting the American people, and not taking up arms against them.
Kamala Harris hit a grand slam home run tonight. More importantly she set the table for her next best chance to prosecute Trump, in the September 10 debate. But after that speech tonight, I can only close this article with three simple words, Welcome, Madam President.
I thank you for the privilege of your time.
She will be the next President.

Hi Milagra, I smiled at your comment above, as the word “Halleluja” is as Hebrew and Jewish as you can get.
“Hallelu” is the third person imperative tense of the word to praise, meaning “we must all praise”.
And ya or ja is the standard two-letter shortened version of the name of God, Jehova, a four letter (in hebrew) word we Jews just don’t say (we say adonai – lord, instead).
So Halleluja is hebrew and comes from the old testament (what we call “Tanakh) meaning “let us all praise god)

I **LOVE** the part addressing the situation with Israel and Gaza. Finally, an American politician who grasps the whole situation and is able to explain it! And without denigrating the people who are suffering the atrocities while the ‘leaders’ (Hamas and Netanyahu) sit in safety hiding behind civilians.
Let’s face facts…as great as Joe Biden is…he wouldn’t have been able to get ALL of us to abandon the worry he might appear old as he went on. WE would have been holding our collective breath. He, being in government as long as he has, wouldn’t have been able or willing to deliver a speech that included prosecuting Trump on national tv, while also talking future policy. Sometimes in life something terrible happens, and if you can get through it, it leads to something you can’t imagine living without. Why? No one knows, but it does require THE GRIT TO GET THROUGH IT. Life is a mystery and all of us forget that on a daily basis. What isn’t a mystery is the only way to see a sunny day is to endure the stormy night. As a nation we have endured through many days of blood and darkness, YET WE ARE STILL HERE. Watching this convention, seeing the unbridled joy after a decade of watching EVIL rule us, was inspiring and uplifting. I cried right along with Tim Walz’s son. It felt like a cool clear cleansing breeze was finally blowing across our land, and for once, GOOD DECENT PEOPLE WILL TAKE POWER! The fight isn’t over but I think even the evil one realizes THE TIDE HAS TURNED! I went to bed last night feeling hopeful that not only my brown children, but ALL of us may see a brighter, more loving, and more intelligent future descend upon us. So let’s really honor our dead heros and save the democracy they fought and died for. I say to all believers in freedom, decency, and social justice…this time our side will prevail and brighter days are ahead! Vote!!!

For those who had not watched any, to sit through those 4 evenings of wonderfully carefully themed speeches .. and then get to see her give the BEST ONE OF ALL was thrilling. And then to PROSECUTE Him w every word.. (even those from her mother!) was remarkable.
