What a circus. The Trump lawyers, to wit, Alina Habba, Christopher Kise and Clifford Robert, now join their client Donald Trump in being under the auspices of a gag order by the Supreme Court of Manhattan, the Honorable Judge Arthur Engoron presiding. The Trump lawyers have had two jobs going concurrently, according to MSNBC legal analyst Lisa Rubin, that of lawyering and that of performance theater. The gag order is going to severely limit the latter.
This became necessary yesterday and today when Christopher Kise simply would not stop complaining about the judge’s clerk communicating with him via passed notes during the hearing. Kise asked for it, he got it.
the last sentence is cut off but it says that the First Amendment right of lawyers to comment on court staff is far and away outweighed by the need to protect them from threats and physical harm.
We’ll see what comes next. This judge is not screwing around. He’s fined Donald Trump twice and he will not hesitate to fine these lawyers if they want to continue with the crazy.
Poor right-wing media assignment editors. What will they do now? They can’t get their usual fair share of Trump victimization on the airwaves because the lawyers can’t talk about it — or least not about the subject matter in this order.
I’d like to hope this will shut these idiots up but I’ve become accustomed to former guy and those in his sphere of influence doing/saying the worst things at the very worst moments. I figure his legal team is going to be a hell of a lot poorer before this is over. lmao
