It was quite the day in Trump’s criminal trial yesterday. Trump got fined for criminal contempt and warned with worse. Damaging testimony that both shreds Trump’s planned defense of “protecting Melania/his family” from “embarrassment.” Trump word salad comments outside the proceedings. All of that got plenty of news coverage, and between that and other news I didn’t notice until this morning a mention that Trump finally had a family member show up in court to offer support! Yep, Fredo 2, aka Butthead (or is it Beavis?), aka Qusay, aka “Dumber” (in the Dumb and Dumber) or if you want to use his birth name Eric Trump was in court.
Quiet, unnoticed just like his whole life prior to his dad getting into politics. And let’s face it, with everything that went on in court which you can read about in this Newsweek write-up that goes into quite a bit of detail I can see how doofus just sitting there behind his dad in the gallery would get overlooked. Especially since the news was also breathlessly talking about another Trump “son” – Barron, Eric’s stepbrother will we learned yesterday be “graced” with the presence of Trump at his (at, as in ruining) his high school graduation! All that news about Trump and “son” Barron and nary a word it seemed about the one (and only) Trump who’s bothered until yesterday to actually show up in court!
I suppose if anyone were to come to court it makes sense it would be Eric. It’s not like he actually does anything across town at the Trump Org. He shows up at the office and pretends to be a bigly executive and collects his allowance from his father. When he gets bored he goes “hunting”, or some other “adventure. Spend time with his kids? That’s what staff/nannies are for! (And, let’s face it. They are better off the less they are exposed to their parents or anyone else named Trump unless Aunt Mary had sought and been granted custody) “Quality time” with wife Lara? Yuck. Between planning out her next “Frankenhooker Look” plastic surgery, working on a a new album (complaining the sound engineers keep destroying her work. We owe them our thanks for keeping most of it from getting out), and now running the RNC (into the ground) she doesn’t have time for him. If he had a lick of sense he’d be glad that’s the case.
So with nothing better to do Eric decided to pop in to the trial and see his dad in “action.” If you call dozing off and farting action. I gather Eric was close enough to be in the “danger” (smell) zone! It appears there was almost no interaction between the two. Not even a “good luck” handshake, much less one of those awkward hugs. And no mention from Trump outside court that Eric had been there, much less allowing him in the “frame” of the camera shot of him talking to reporters. It will be interesting to see if Eric bothers to show up again.
Like others I’ve derived petty enjoyment from mocking Trump over not having any family or friends show up to support him. Hell, I did so yesterday not knowing that Eric had in fact showed up. (FYI, Texas AG Ken Paxton attended in an apparent show of support but he and Trump aren’t pals. Paxton was just looking to build himself some Trump cred. Put his hat in the ring for AG of the whole country perhaps?) I couldn’t help but wonder why Eric even bothered.
The only thing that makes sense is that he was making a play to be Trump’s new “favorite” in which I’d say be careful what you wish for dumbass. For sooooo long wannabe Princess Ivanka was the far and away clear favorite. Granted, one reason was a sick, twisted obsession on Trump’s part but she did seem to study a bit more in school and try a little harder at “work” at the Trump Org. That however is a bar so low my Granny could even now step over at the age of 90. And she died in 1990 and is buried! Don “Please Love Me Daddy” Junior who fulfilled dad’s worst fears and turned out to be a complete loser has never had a chance at being #1 kid. (Don’t forget, Trump objected when Trophy Wife #1 Ivana insisted on naming their first born Don Jr. – Trump whined “what if he turns out to be a loser?”)
With Ivanka walking away and trying to shed the Trump stink and return to a socialite life of “working mom” part of a “power couple” of future “Masters of the Universe” out of the picture and with Don Jr. being… well Don Jr. I can see why Eric would go for it. Be the one anointed by Trump. Tiffany probably looked at her older step-siblings and thought (correctly) since she’s smarter and harder working she might sneak in and become #1 kid. Sorry. I just don’t see it. Trump almost certainly hates her for being clearly smarter and harder working. Plus, his hopes were always on the kids from his first marriage. The one to the smart, tough, beautiful Ivana who lest we forget was an elite athlete (skier) and had potential to be a force on the international circuit. THOSE were the kinds of genes Trump was counting on.
I think it’s safe to say his own contribution watered things down a lot more than fifty percent!
Well, I just want everyone to know we all have to adjust our potshots at Trump for not, at least until yesterday had a single family member show up with him at a single court appearance. That dubious streak has now been broken. It does however open up new possibilities to make fun of Trump and his family. What it that one appearance yesterday was it? Or what if Eric keeps showing up and Trump never acknowledges it? Then there’s the speculation about why his siblings haven’t at least sometimes joined him. There will still be plenty of (admittedly mean-spirited but I have no f**ks to give on that score) fun to be had!
Ivanka, Jr. and Eric allowed their mother to be buried in some lonely corner of a golf course! I wonder if the site was every planted or beautified and if any of them have ever even been there since the funeral. These kids, all of them, are callous, calculating pieces of trash.
