For a purported “centrist” whose high court that presides over a rumored secular Democracy and is comprised of a politically gerrymandered majority which includes two credibly accused sexual abusers, one of whom is married to a seditionist, a fundamentalist Christian citizen of The Republic of Gilead, and a religious zealot who attacked Boris Johnson, Prince Harry, French President Emmanuel Macron and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau
for not sharing his colloquial orthodox beliefs, Roberts is certainly indignant about the lumpen proletariat who daily picket his beloved court and distress his imagined vision of how the court should be appreciated.
Not to worry, Twitter is here to take his hand in comfort:
If Chief Justice John Roberts actually did something to reform the Supreme Court like take action against Justice Clarence Thomas for his conflict of interest over Ginni Thomas support of insurrectionists https://t.co/9H099IvQtW
— Shanlon Wu (@shanlonwu) September 10, 2022
Or Chief Justice Roberts could support expanding SCOTUS & adding term limits instead of continuing to support rock-star image of SCOTUS justices being exalted above all other lawyers https://t.co/WLQH0p8CKz
— Shanlon Wu (@shanlonwu) September 10, 2022
Chief Justice Roberts & other justices shouldn't whine about legitimacy until they take some steps to reform SCOTUS.
— Shanlon Wu (@shanlonwu) September 10, 2022
Well, those steps would certainly be a start, but let’s consider what others have to say.
🙄Try driving past hoards of “pro-life” zealots screaming “murderer” just to get an annual pap and breast exam.
— LiberalFish (@akemor) September 10, 2022
A eventuality Roberts or Alito are unlikely to face.
This is the same Roberts who has dedicated his career on the Supreme "Court" to undermining democratic rights, especially voting rights. If he actually was bothered by what's happening, he'd retire & speak out. Instead, he'll help the far-right five further gut democratic rights.
— Snarky Lawyer (@SnarkedUpLawyer) September 10, 2022
Yeah, but he’ll whine about it as he labors, does that count?
All of whom lied in their individual interviews and perjured themselves in their confirmation hearings.
— TheDude (@DLovesCreedence) September 11, 2022
Yup.

Robert's was the deciding vote on Citizen's United. I don't give 1💩 about his feelings regarding SCOTUS image!
His legacy is ruined along with the 5 he's protecting.
— Public/Private Safety (Ret.) Vet. Lifetime CPP cer (@Secur80Consult) September 10, 2022
Just another whiney man that John Roberts. Of course no one respects their decisions anymore. Hard to agree with misogynistic Christians in a nation that is supposed to have separation of church and state.

Exactamundo, Kate.
Really! He and his illegitimate Trump appointees hand down a decision that removes the rights of the majority based on the opinion of someone from a past century who condemned us as witches and he is the victim?
— Constance (@jconstance61) September 10, 2022
He is a Republican, they are always victims, even as they victimize.
-Lol…the fox in the henhouse is whining at what he purposely created and knows it.
-The constant gaslighting w/out breaking out into hysterical giggling must be the hardest part for them.
-Bcs the fascism&theocratic grifting doesn't seem to bother them at all.— Nola (@nola_geurl) September 10, 2022
Yup.
If he doesn’t like his job, he can always quit
— Brandon Boyd (@brandoninstl) September 10, 2022
👍👍👍 Now, there’s a thought.
Let’s not hold our breath tho…
If Roberts cared about the credibility of the court he wouldnt have his head in the sand about the central role Ginni and Clarence Thomas have had in tarnishing it.
— Travis Stiles (@titostiles) September 10, 2022
💯 💯 💯
Roberts could actually act to alleviate his discomfort, but he won’t because doing so would anger his masters at the Federalist Society and would require showing some moral courage.
Doubt we can reasonably expect that.
There’s an inscription carved into the stone over entrance to the SCOTUS building. Right there over the top of the steps. You walk right under it as you pass through the columns to the doors. (it is carved elsewhere too) Know what it says?
EQUAL JUSTICE UNDER LAW
Simple and to the point. Of course, the reality is that justice in our country has never been equal under law. Some people are and continue to be as the saying goes “more equal than others.” Over time, and ever so slowly in fits and starts SCOTUS has issued opinions that even if only slightly granted more equality to people. There’s a long way to go, and IF under Roberts tenure as Chief Justice and especially lately SCOTUS was still, if only sometimes expanding the number of people who got equal rights, and equal justice under law he wouldn’t be whining about protesters because he wouldn’t be seeing what he’s seeing every day. Sure, there’d still be protests sometimes but not the ongoing stuff we’re now seeing.
What we’re seeing now is due to the Roberts Court having for the first time in our history TAKEN away a right that had been upheld with precedent. A right over half the people in this country (there are more women than men) have had for a half century now. And they’ve signaled an intention to use the same justification to take away more reproductive rights. Hey guys – this shit affect you too! Not just your wives, daughters, sisters, girlfriends and female friends.
So STFU Roberts. You and your Prosperity Gospel/Dominionist Fascist Federal Society Assholes can go straight to the hell you profess to believe in.
As a member of SCOTUS your title isn’t judge, it’s Justice. So start living up to that inscription on the building you work in – Equal JUSTICE Under Law! Do that, and start kicking some ass with your fellow GOP asshats and you’ll have a LOT less people hurting your little fee fees.
Roberts lost all credibility as did his court with Citizens United, when they stripped away voting protections, and when the court overturned Roe vs. Wade. People love America because we are free, but the Supreme Court seems intent on taking away our most basic freedoms. To me the Supreme Court is completely irrelevant, it is mostly a group of far right nut jobs trying to control the majority of the country who don’t share their twisted ideas.
Fuck him. Be sure to use birth control,(while it’s still available), cuz abortion,(which would be a solution for this abomination), is off the table.
Scotus is simply a reflection of our broken judicial system. Qualified immunity exists to take the load off of the court system. Why wasn’t Mar Lago a no knock deal like we regular folk get?
Robert’s is full of shyte and out of touch with reality.
You think it is bad to have to.pass the Screeching Hordes for a Pap smeat? Try escorting rape victims on the second worst day of their life to get STI testing and Plan B. Watching that poor woman’s face as they called her a baby killer and murderer and Nazi, I had to.clench my fists to keep.from smacking that self-righteous smirk off their faces.
If men could get pregnant I would like to see every one of the Unfab Five impregnated with 8 potential.fetuses and forced to.carry to.term and support every one of them. I would wish permanent morning sickness on Alito and Thomas.
As I watch Andy & red in shawshank again, I remember red’s comment about the sisters, a gang of rapists after Andy. Andy said he should tell them he’s not homosexual. Red said neither are they…they’d have to be human first. Wearing a robe sitting on the highest court doesn’t make one human. Having a heart, mind & soul does. These fuckers don’t qualify. Neither does the demonic Maga crowd. Fact. They are evil.
Perhaps counter-intuitive, but I’d keep Gorsuch. First, as a show of bipartisanship (don’t bust a gut laughing yet – a little political theater can be helpful at times.) Second, his personal life appears (yeah, I know – “appears” – but, again, political theater). third and really yhe only reason, despite al his other disgusting beliefs, he has demonstrated on the Court that he really, really cares about the rights and treatment of Native Americans. Before we lost RBG, Gorsuch was the deciding vote, voting with liberals, on a decision affecting tribal rights. Since we lost RBG, he has continued to vote the right way on this issue, except now he’s losing. If we could only get a majority, it would not hurt to have his voice there for Native Americans.
