Conventional wisdom has it that the cover up is frequently worse than the crime. I don’t know if that’s true with the sex trafficking of minors. That’s a crime that even criminals hate. It’s well known that sex offenders of children end up getting bashed around in stir because people in there for other reasons, murder, grand larceny, you name it, deem themselves way above child molesters. And they’re probably right. After all, theft crimes are about profit and money, crimes of violence are frequently motivated by passion or revenge, but child molestation is the work of sleazebags. That’s the judgement of universal morality, if such a thing exists. And Donald Trump is that level of sleazebag. Here’s some real world thinking from Senator John Kennedy, minus his Foghorn Leghorn mannerisms, so you know he’s serious.
You heard that. “They’re beyond being able to say ‘you’re just going to have to trust us.'” Righto. Pam Bondi tried that and it fell straight on its face. Nobody wanted to hear that there “was no client list.” Kennedy is right. People want, people demand a client list. Now where does that leave Trump?
Kennedy gave Trump the answer — IF he can sell it. The comment Kennedy made, “He knew him way back, when they were both young and single,” is the way to go. If that can be corroborated. The main problem with that, is that there is evidence that Trump knew Epstein for a great many years. There are a lot of photographs. I don’t think it can be proven throughout that entire time span that they were just two young guys who knew each other, and one went down a dark path and the other became a prince. But that’s basically how Kennedy is suggesting that Trump frame it.
And it’s as good as anything that anybody else has come up with. Now if I was Ghislaine Maxwell, I would be depressed right about now. Because Kennedy has also made it clear that the temperature of the electorate has shown him that pardoning her would be a really bad idea.
And Trump knows that on some level. Whenever he’s asked about pardoning Maxwell, he begins his reply with, “I’m allowed to pardon her.” That’s not the question. Everybody knows Trump can do it, the question is WILL Trump do it?
Kennedy says no, Trump should not do it. I think he’s right. But if Maxwell’s attorney negotiates for a really terrific statement from Maxwell about how Trump barely knew Epstein, bla bla, along with a lot of other names that would be classified as “red meat” and therefore satisfy Marge Greene and MAGA as a whole, then Trump might be persuaded to pardon Maxwell.
Or, Maxwell might find herself going the way of her boyfriend, with a mysterious demise in prison. That’s not something that should be ruled out, considering the high stakes of this particular game. And she was recently moved from one facility to another. Whether that was to facilitate her safety or somebody else’s convenience, shall we say, is not known at this time.
Trump has one slim way to play this, which is to distance himself from Epstein. The only issue is whether he can plausibly do so. And the answer to that is most likely found in what the FBI and the DOJ have in their records. But whether the truth of what’s in those records ever sees the light of day is a different question altogether.
Where is the Deep State when you need it?

Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that of all of the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, with the exception of one writer in his mid-50’s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to keep going in our quest to tell the truth about Trump and see democracy survive. If you can help, please do. Thanks. Ursula

last I checked Congress are part of the “American people.”
Lev P. predicted this move a week ago and predicts where this is going-witness program and a quiet pardon. so far he’s been right
She may get either a pardon or a commuted sentence at the end of trump’s term. The quid pro quo is that she takes the 5th at any Congressional hearing, at least insofar as it relates to trump. The meeting with Blanche may have been to find out how much she has on trump and whether it can be corroborated. Apparently, she convinced them she has the goods. This is pretty blatant and it’s not going to sit well with many Magas.
Kennedys problem is that there is so much non-epstein evidence that trump is a total sleazebag.
Hey Foghorn…being young and single is NO EXCUSE for raping children. Stupid asshole.
