According to The Hill, Meghan McCain was publicly critical today on Ivanka Trump’s silence about Dear Father’s “zero tolerance” immigration policy while on ABC’s “The View”. And she’s not the only one who has noticed. Over the weekend, the Twitterverse also pointed out the first daughter’s absence of any comments about the issue and her image became a meme over the weekend, complete with scathing commentary.
McCain said, “Where is Ivanka in all of this? Because she is all for women and mothers, and she has a White House role, and a job. And I’m sort of interested that her whole platform has been women and mothers and she doesn’t seem to have anything to say about this.”
It seems that even Melania’s recent condemnation of the policy where she issued a statement where she says she “believes we need to be a country that follows all laws, but also a country that governs with heart” has not been enough for RichWhiteGirl to speak out. According to people.com, the $5,000 metallic Carolina Herrera gown which Ivanka Trump wore in 2017 came under fire again as a result of her notable silence. The dress, an off shoulder silver gown began circulating on social media — with many pointing out how similar it looked to the thermal blankets being used by migrant children inside a processing detention center run by the Department of Homeland Security.
