The House Oversight Committee was supposed to hold a hearing Thursday night primarily focused on U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland turned into something that was a hair, or should I say an eyelash short of a barroom brawl.
The hearing started out relatively uncomplicated as lawmakers worked toward voting on whether Garland should be held in contempt for refusing to turn over audio records of President Joe Biden and Special Counsel Robert Hur, CBS News reports.
Then things went sideways after Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) asked Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) “Do you know what we are here for?”This led Greene to retort, “I don’t think you know what you are here for … I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading.”
The situation went from simmer to boil when Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez jumped in, saying “I would like to move to take down Ms. Greene’s words. That is absolutely unacceptable. How dare you attack the physical appearance of another person? Move her words down. Greene sniped “Are your feelings hurt?” Ocasio-Cortez fired back “Girl. Baby girl, don’t even play … We are gonna move and take your words down.”
Things quieted down for a brief while and folks went back and forth over what types of comments were appropriate at the hearing. Crockett, who was probably still frustrated at Greene’s stupid remark posed a question to committee chair Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.):
“I’m just curious, if someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody’s bleach-blonde bad-built butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?”

Up until that moment, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) had been sitting quietly in his chair. But as soon as he heard Crockett’s hilarious slap at Greene he looked briefly shocked and as he looked briefly in Greene’s direction and then to Crockett, his eyes widened and a look of amusement crossed his face. He clearly enjoyed that spicy comeback.
When the fireworks were over, the panel voted on whether to kick Greene out of the panel. Republicans being who they are, allowed the obviously racist fool to stay. And while she has been asked to apologize, she has refused to do so.
Because that might make her appear human.

Madge is an ugly cow, inside and out. She’s the last one who should make insults about anyone’s appearance. She can’t keep up with the likes of Crocket or AOC, being too stoopid and venal to even know what they are talking about, let alone come up with the witty repartee they are known for. And Comer came off as some dithering old idiot. We need to flush the House (and Senate) of these dumpster rejects.
