It’s A World (not just MAGA) Gone Mad – MTG Calls Laura Loomer Racist

In a real life case of the blonde Pot calling the brunette Kettle black we now have none other that the notorious, laborious MTG accusing conservative activist and influencer Laura Loomer of being (horrors!) racist towards Asian Americans. No, you aren’t in some out of the way corner of whatever is the Twilight Zone of whatever is way the hell beyond the Outer Limits. I say that because MTG sez the GOP is NOT racist.  That it’s not who/what the GOP is or is about. Really. Take a minute to absorb that.

What’s this all about? Well, as reported by The Independent Laura Loomer who currently has Trump’s ear put up a tweet/X about Kamala Harris.  In response to a picture from Harris’ childhood with a caption of her talking about her mom taking her to visit family in India Loomer responded thusly:

If @KamalaHarris wins, the White House will smell like curry & White House speeches will be facilitated via a call center and the American people will only be able to convey their feedback through a customer satisfaction survey at the end of the call that nobody will understand.

Yep, that’s racist on Loomer’s part. No question about it although it’s typical fare from her. She’s gone after other Democratic women, especially Muslim ones. Loomer is a vile, hateful person. She also as I said currently has Trump’s ear. Melania was nowhere to be found but Loomer was with Trump on the flight to Philly for the Debate Debacle. She is reported to have encouraged him to emphasize the Haitians are killing and eating pets in Ohio thing.  In retrospect it’s not a leap to think it was Loomer who convinced Trump to take the ‘Harris was (south) Asian before she was black’ schtick.

Anyway much of late Tuesday night and all of yesterday there was talk about how badly Trump had blown the debate. Even Fox was in ‘What the hell just happened? How did Trump manage to lose so badly?’ mode.  And yes, Loomer’s name came up at times.  Maybe MTG, Ms. Jewish Space Laser ‘lady’ herself could get back in the game with Trump or so she figured.  Without a trace of irony MTG went on the attack with her own tweet, which I should note concluded with the demand that Loomer take HERS down:

“This is appalling and extremely racist,” Georgia Representative Greene said in response on X. “It does not represent who we are as Republicans or MAGA. This does not represent President Trump. This type of behavior should not be tolerated ever.”

Loomer then fired back, calling Greene a “raging anti semite” and claimed her post was a “funny joke about Kamala Harris” using “her Indian mom as a way to dodge questions.”

Two well-known GOP women with histories of baseless, hateful racist attacks on anything that isn’t lily white MAGA is in a word WEIRD.  Not unexpected but still weird, especially given the timing of all this. What’s bending my own mind is that I think even MTG realizes for now Trump and MAGA need to dial down the rhetoric some. MAGA has the message. They always have. Trumpty can reinforce it at this point with little effort and without being ‘in your’s and everyone’s face’ about it.

More to the point, I think MTG believes Trump and the GOP are in trouble with Independent voters, and for that matter need to get some ‘soft’ Republicans who are wondering it maybe the MAGA-zation of their Party has gotten out of control to suck it up and vote Trump/GOP just one more time.

As you know the GOP spent decades teaching the large, racist bloc of its most loyal voters how to understand coded racist references. Then Trump came along and to the horror of the old-guard started saying everything openly. ‘Pandoracist’s Box’ was opened. It’s still getting the GOP a certain and large bloc of loyal voters but since 2018 the handwriting has been on the wall. It was one thing to lose Independents (and a handful of GOPers) over abortion.

However the racism is starting to solidify those voters against the GOP. And making more than a few Republicans (it appears) start to think it’s time to close the lid on the box Trump opened. Oh, they will still tolerate the racism in the ranks. They just want, NEED it go go back to being the old ‘coded’ talk. Trump and his “style” have cost Republicans a LOT down ballot. Trump promised them they’d get tired of winning. Well, THAT hasn’t happened but the non hard-core MAGAs are for damned sure tired of LOSING. It seems even some MAGAs know they need to behave more than they’ve been doing.

When MTG is thinking like that (and I don’t know she it, but it’s possible) then yes, Trump is in deep doo-doo. And MTG thinks Loomer is the problem. AND she knows just who should take Loomer’s place at Trump’s side. Her.  That of course is like escaping one melting down nuclear reactor by jumping into another one.  Trump however loves this kind of infighting among those vying for his approval.  Greene still appears at Trump events but she doesn’t seem to be one of his inner circle anymore. She wants to be however. Hence (I believe) this current spat. But as President Biden would say ‘Come on man! This one is accusing THAT one of being racist?’

As for me, right now I feel like wherever the hell we are at this point we seem headed for worse. I find myself wishing we could somehow find our way back to ‘only’ bashit-insane stuff.
