The Dreamsickle Deity takes stage at 8:00 p.m. local time tonight and Iowa MAGAs are thrilled. I have only been in Iowa once in my life. I drove through there on a cross country trip in the early 70’s. My companion was a long-haired hippy with an earring, and wearing a shoelace for a necklace, so he got some looks, as did I wearing a tee shirt with no bra. I also thought that Iowa looked like Mars, because the coffee shop we stopped at was right off the freeway and the field behind it was fallow, all the way out to the horizon. Coming from Colorado, I wasn’t used to looking out to both horizons and seeing flat land.
Now don’t think I don’t like Iowa. I found Iowans to be down to earth, plain spoken folk and I can say in truth that some of my best friends are Iowans, and some of those are right here on this blog. That said, for those of you who are still back there, good luck. It’s going to be a spooky night. It’s not Halloween yet, but something orange and wicked your way waddles.
Here are the faithful starting up with the Trump Won dirge, since early morning.

And here’s a woman who thinks “a Civil War is coming.” This is what happens when you only know about such things from TV. If you want to know what really living in a war zone is like, ask some of the people who were at ground zero during 9/11 — and not Trumpty. He wasn’t there, although he’s done revisionist history on that fact.
Iowa’s got six electoral votes. I’m not saying that’s nothing, I’m saying that with their small population that their devotion to their Pumpkin Preacher is not as alarming as it would be if this was New York state, for example. Still and all, I can’t help but be horrified. These farmers would know, if anybody in this country would, how Trump screwed up farming relations with other countries. Argentina now buys crops from Mexico that it used to buy from the U.S. We are never going to get those markets back. But then again, Joni Ernst got reelected to the Senate and she doesn’t know what the price of a bushel of soy beans is. I watched that interview on TV.
And don’t get me started on Kim Reynolds, their governor, and her anti-vaxx views.
And it’s not just Iowa either. Take a look at this billboard from Pennsylvania. This is scary stuff. This is the kind of thing that foments civil war.
So it seems like this billboard is up in Pennsylvania. pic.twitter.com/XIo9zINvVj

I don’t know what fat cat financed the billboard, but let’s face it, there’s big money in propaganda these days. Gotta keep emotions high and the Big Lie going. Expect Trump to add to the Big Lie tonight. He blatantly lied about Arizona during his last rally, he’ll do so again, watch. Or don’t watch. I’ll watch so that you don’t have to, deal?

Deal.
no way I watch that shit, i have high blood pressure already
Here’s the REAL DEAL … Iowans lost their majority of intelligence years ago, several farming families lost everything, why? you say …
The big money people set them up to fail, promoted the idea of ordering fancy new tractors and harvesters, they did, and found out the hard way about marketing controls by those very crooks …
Through easy money loans, many connected to insurance companies that wrote policies to seize equipment for auctions if the farmers suffered seasonal losses or mismanagement …
and were driven to default because of unpaid loans …
I’m sure, Ursula remembers a movie made in Iowa a few years ago, about a farm family in just that kind of bind … holding an auction of every piece of equipment, on hand crop harvest, home and out buildings … the cruelty of the collection people and their methods was nerve jarring and, at once, very sad … the effect was amplified by the local farmer’s choice to walk out into the barn and shoot himself …
The movie crew bought an old farm house, north of where we used to live, they painted it up and placed period furniture inside so it looked just like an active farmer’s old farmstead where his family had been raised for several generations …
That’s just the mindset of everything Trump, take all their money, to hell with their dignity, their health, or even deaths from his inactions and incredibly stupid handling of the covid-19 virus …
All these bizarre actors, (lost and confused Iowans), show a common set of problems at Trump’s rants, super spreaders … never vaccinated, not wearing masks and not one little concern about the hundreds of thousands of people dead from the virus … just living for the moment, radical statements from guest speakers and the fat-assed liar himself … all prompted and paid for by GOP dark money …
There have been many market corrections, federal loans and even rules and tax breaks applied to farmers’ and their families … farmers paid to NOT till their fields, raise crops OR livestock, always about the almighty dollar … Trump’s bombastic public announcements of doing trade deals, without any idea how those were so damaging to ALL of us ….
He always shows how inadequate his personal intelligence is by one hurtful action after another, cruelty and grins when he devastates the lives of many …

An interview with Abby Finkenauer, (for Senate)
Deep-red states like Iowa are a lost cause. Democrats need to focus on re-taking the state legislatures in swing states like Michigan, Wisconsin, etc. It has become apparent that the GOP “strategy” is to pass state laws that suppress the vote, and use state legislatures to overturn election results they don’t like. Democrats need to thwart these efforts.
My neighbor is from a well to do farm family in Iowa. Trumper all the way. Anytime I’ve pointed out his falsehoods with Facts, he gets mad & storms off. Of course, if he needs a favor, he comes around. Entitled. Ignorant. Arrogant. Has the emotional stability of a toddler. Sound familiar? Oh, & he’s a racist, no surprise since there are no black people in Iowa.
