In The Last 36 Hours The GOP Has Taken Two Warning Shots Across The Bow. The Next One May Be Below The Waterline

My friends, this is beginning to get interesting, and the more I see, it’s almost like at long last the worm is beginning to turn.

Years from now, long after Traitor Tot is gone, and the MAGA movement is little more than a foul stench, when the history of the Trump malignancy is written, it will be underpinned by two things. Arrogance, and intimidation.

And both were spread by, and flaunted by Emperor Numbus Nuttus. His automatic response to every backlash against a virulent campaign promise was to double down. When Trump became President it became even worse, from emoluments clause violations to overt federal nepotism law violations by hiring Jared and Ivanka, Trump’s response was, Go ahead, stop me. I’M the President.

But it wasn’t just Trump or the MAGA GOP. In states all over the country, GOP majorities used arrogance and intimidation to rule. They hacked away at voting rights, LGBTQ rights, and abortion rights with impunity. for one simple reason. Nobody would stand up to them.

Even after the Democrats took over control of the House in 2019, they continued to use exactly the same tactics to try to stop the Democrats from getting anything done. And even when the Democrats retook the Senate in 2020, GOP Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell used intimidation in his dark threats of eventual strong repercussions if the Democrats reformed the filibuster.

Look, these idjits didn’t have control of either chamber of congress, and still strutted around like the lords of the playground. And LOSER GOP state legislators filed useless lawsuits in court after 2020, and hatched lame brain schemes to vote in fake slates of electors. And it was only the courts that stopped them. They’re bullies, pure and simple.

And there are only two ways to stop a bully. Either the scrawny kid with the pocket protector gets tired of missing lunch, and bops the bully on the snoot, breaking the invincibility of the bully, or all the other skinny kids with pocket protectors rally to the kid currently being tortured, and chase the bully across the river.

And that’s starting to happen right now. In Tennessee, the overtly racist GOP legislature used a cobble up excuse to expel two young, energetic African American pain-in-the-*sses. The better way would have been to do it quietly. Pride goeth before a fall. The TN legislature made it a national spectacle, and now both of those young black legislators is going back to work. And now the TN legislature has to be careful how they treat them, because now the spotlight is on, and they can’t pull the same lame shite again.

The Tennessee students who precipitated this tempest-in-a-teapot by their walkouts and marches to the Capitol with their parents are not backing down. They want gun control, and if there’s one thing a legislator has to be mindful of, it’s his constituents.

And now today Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg got sick and fed up with MAGA moron Jim Jordan’s b*llshit about his prosecution, and went to federal court in Manhattan to finally put a cork in Jordan’s bottle. And it will work, since Jordan is on the wrong side of the law every which way but loose.

The dam is cracking. The exploits of The Tennessee Three is an activist playbook for Democrats in other GOP dominated legislatures, and you can bet they’re already studying it. And you can bet that some of them are going to get into good trouble. GOP hacks in chairs throughout the House are all full of themselves, but Alvin Bragg just showed them the way. And even if not, just defy the subpoena. Do you rally think that the Garland DOJ is going to be in a big hurry to legitimize another House GOP witch hunt?

Bullying only works as long as you can get away with it. And now, the kids with the pocket protectors are starting to bop the bullies on the snoot. But change only occurs if somebody pushes for change. And it appears that the aura of invincibility of the bully is cracking. Don’t look for an avalanche. Instead look for small, local acts of defiance that draw national attention to the bullies. Patience, Grasshoppers.
