The morality of the Trump administration drops several points daily. Just look at the scorecard for the past 24 hours: 1. You have Trump in Canada, disparaging his own countrymen and making accusations against Justin Trudeau, which were simply inaccurate and not true. Needless to say, no clarification or apology was offered to Trudeau or anybody else; 2. You have Trump refusing to do the decent thing and call Tim Walz after the tragic shootings in Minnesota. And that’s the least of it. He insulted Walz without reason or provocation, calling him “a mess” “whacked out” and “doesn’t have a clue.” 3. You have Trump threatening to assassinate the Supreme Leader of Iran; 4. You have this horrific display, depicted below, in an immigration court and the even worse justification for it. This is a repeat of the brutalization of Alex Padilla just last week. Is ICE Trump’s personal S.S.?
NYC Comptroller Brad Lander just got arrested while visiting immigration court.

Then you have ICE come along and add insult to injury:
In a statement, Tricia McLaughlin, a spokeswoman for the Department of Homeland Security, the parent agency of ICE, said that Mr. Lander “was arrested for assaulting law enforcement and impeding a federal officer.”
“Our heroic ICE law enforcement officers face a 413 percent increase in assaults against them,” she added. “It is wrong that politicians seeking higher office undermine law enforcement safety to get a viral moment. No one is above the law, and if you lay a hand on a law enforcement officer, you will face consequences.”
A spokesman for the U.S. attorney’s office in Manhattan declined to comment on whether it would seek charges against Mr. Lander.
The arrest came a week before the Democratic primary for mayor. Mr. Lander is running in a crowded field, and has been racing to make inroads against former Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, the front-runner who has led nearly all polls. Zohran Mamdani, a state assemblyman who is running second behind Mr. Cuomo, and Mr. Lander have cross-endorsed each other. […]
Tuesday marked the third time that Mr. Lander had appeared at the city’s immigration courts, where ICE agents, typically wearing masks, have become a regular presence as the agency ramps up arrests of migrants showing up for routine court hearings.
Prosecutors with the Department of Homeland Security have surprised a number of migrants by dismissing their cases when they appear in court, a legal tactic that opens the door for ICE agents to arrest them in the hallways once they leave and place them in expedited deportation proceedings without hearings.
Several Democratic politicians, including members of Congress, have shown up at immigration courthouses in recent weeks to protest the Trump administration’s new tactics.
And they take their lives and their liberty into their own hands when they do. A few weeks ago Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was arrested for “trespassing” at the Delaney Hall ICE detention facility in Newark, where he went to conduct oversight. Congresswoman LaMonica McIver was also there and she was accused of assaulting federal officers while attempting to stop Baraca’s arrest.
This is the state of things in Trump’s America. ICE is acting as his personal S.S. and roughing up anybody that Trump wants roughed up and that includes mayors, senators, congress members, you name it. And if you try to defend yourself, or somebody else, then you are accused of assaulting a federal officer.
And it’s intriguing that Lander is being accused of a publicity stunt, because just this morning Trump accused the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, of “publicity seeking.” This is Trump’s motivation for everything that he does, publicity, and so he projects it onto others.
This is not America. This is, however, horrifying.

but it is America now!!
wake up to fascism in your face.
“ICE Frames This Travesty As Lander Seeking ‘To Get A Viral Moment’ ”
True, but who TF cares how they frame it? I sure don’t. BTW, I shouldn’t say this, but I don’t even like Brad Lander. But you’d have to be deep into NYC politics of that 20 years to understand why, I guess.
Anyway, he’s a hero now. Still, Zohran Mamdani has my vote. And ICE, don’t fuck with NYC.
Nazi thugs…tune in to the Australian series Mr. InBetween…written and starring Scott Evans, who plays a hit man for hire, but also is a loving father, loyal friend, and has a code where he tolerates no violence toward women and children, or any assholes that cross his path. After kicking some punk’s ass, who unapologetically ran into his daughter causing her to drop her ice cream, he’s ordered into anger management. The therapist, who comes across as an entitled asshole, tries to get Ray to admit all violence is wrong. Ray, a former solider, refuses. When asked for an example of good violence, Ray responded WW2. Of course the therapist had no answer for that. When he asked Ray why he bashed the guys, Ray said they were being assholes. The therapist said Ray…don’t you know the world is full of assholes? Ray said sure, and asked do you know why? Why?…asked the therapist. Ray smiled and said because PEOPLE LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT. So phucking true! So citizens of this former democratic republic…I ask…how far will you bend over to have your former freedoms stuffed up your arses? Call me curious. In the joint, retribution is guaranteed and swift, as Ray pointed out. In the streets we are a nation of pampered cowards allowing unnamed thugs to kidnap citizens while we worry about which celebrity is phucking whom. There’s no logic in honoring rules/laws when nazi criminals are NOW THE LAW. Phuck them. Time to resist! Fight back! Make them pay for their nazi shit. Find a way.
