Cue the Twilight Zone music, because we indeed are entering a land of imagination. The laws of physics may hold but wave bye bye to all principles of economics. Plus I guarantee you that logic and common sense will be in shards on the floor by the time you’re done reading this. Donald Trump’s newest pitch, which he’s being backed on by none other than his Commerce Secretary, is that there is going to be so much money pouring into this nation that maybe checks will be cut to citizens. Yes, checks, similar to the COVID stimulus checks. We’re going to be rolling in dough as a nation. Isn’t that a wonderful development? See if you can follow Howard Lutnick’s *reasoning.*
Howard Lutnick says Trump is considering rebate checks:
Tariff revenue is going to be $600, $700, $800, $900, & $1T. The President is thinking, "Look, I’ve created this value from all our people. Why not find a way to share that money with the people?pic.twitter.com/9UjfeG0EKK

What Lutnick is doing is confessing that Trump has created or will create a $1 Trillion tax hike. That’s another first in a politician known for nothing but firsts. We’ve seen lots of economic machinations from Republican presidents but nobody has managed to raise taxes by one trillion bucks. But Trump claims he will do just that.
Now how exactly is that going to result in a pile of cash which Lutnick will then divvy up and give a check to me and a check to you and everybody gets a check? Gee, do you have to spoil the mood here? We were all getting excited about this windfall and now you want to go and blow it asking for details. Sheesh, you guys.

Maybe this is what Trump is actually going to do. Maybe he can get Congress to go along with it. But I still want to see how this will work out in the real world. When the tariffs hit prices of goods are going to go up and unless Trump does some immediate stimulus checks — and lies that they are “rebates” from the great wealth pouring into the treasury, when in fact nothing is pouring into the treasury, the importers are paying and then passing the cost onto the consumer — I don’t see how he’s going to get away with it.
And maybe he’ll do just that. Maybe that’s what we’re about to see, is the cost of living shoot up 30% and then a small check for $300 or something will come in the mail and we’re all supposed to be dazzled by it.
I don’t know if that’s what Trump will try. But I can tell you when he will try it. October of 2026. Possibly before then he’ll do one check and then another one in October of 2026.
Trump has sold everything else to this nation so far, maybe he can sell this.

So pay more in taxes, but get cash money back from the government?
So socialism.
Go socialism, brought to you by “The Party of Less Government”.
By having more government.
how many times a year do we get the rebate and for how many years?
Never and never.
