This is not entirely unexpected. November has been one amazing month and its big day, Thanksgiving, hasn’t even taken place yet. The first week of November the off-year elections happened and they were a stunning victory for Democrats, nationwide. That set the scene for Zohran Mamdani to be the whipping boy for the midterms election. The presses were all ready to roll and what a commie pinko Mamdani was, was going to be the rallying cry for MAGA in 2026. Then Mamdani walked into the Oval Office a few days ago and it was love at first sight. Which told Michael Wolff to talk to Trump aides and one told him that the 25th Amendment was under consideration.
The author shared on the Inside Trump’s Head podcast that White House insiders told him they were floored as the president, 79, lavished praise on the Democratic New York City mayor-elect, 34, during their warm-and-fuzzy Oval Office press conference on Friday.
Wolff told co-host Joanna Coles that a source in the White House who is “quite up close to what is going on” told him the collective reaction to Trump’s gush session was simply, “What the f—?”
“Nobody expected that. This was not the script. It was completely out of the blue… and concerning,” the White House insider said, according to Wolff.
The person added, “This wasn’t just losing the plot. This was like a different guy. The look in his eyes was crazy.”
Wolff said White House staff had expected Trump to project a “message of dominance and submission” in his presser with Mamdani, whom the president had previously trashed as a “communist lunatic” and threatened to arrest and deport.
Instead, a fawning Trump said he would “absolutely” feel “comfortable” living in Mamdani’s city, defended him against the right’s “jihadist” label, and pledged to help the new democratic socialist mayor do a “good job.”
According to Wolff, his White House source told him, “The only explanation was that the guy forgot who he is—so weird,” confessing, “It gives you a 25th Amendment shiver.”
So much for Trump’s perfect enemy and the perfect foil for the 2026 midterms. That was the strategy and then who upended it in one fell swoop? None other than Trump himself. There was a big political win last week in Washington and it was not Trump’s. “Trump is so good at playing the role, but he clearly was… out of character playing a different role,” Wolff said. “And the view of this person [in the White House] and people around Trump was that they had no explanation for what was going on here.”
Maybe use Occam’s Razor. Maybe the flat out, plain truth of the matter is that Trump is senile and his dementia is getting worse every day. It might indeed be time for a 25th Amendment call although I don’t know what makes me shiver worse, a failing Trump or J.D. Vance in the driver’s seat? Frankly, the cure might be worse than the disease. Maybe it’s better to let Trump wander through his remaining years in office and not turn the reins over to Vance, who would go out and recruit ten more Russ Voughts and Stephen Millers, for every one of Trump’s Pete Hegseths and Kash Patels. Never lose sight of the fact that Trump’s hiring of photogenic imbeciles is a saving grace of sorts. It keeps the less photogenic and more vicious ones out of a lot of government posts. Vance would end that.

This is known as ‘A Saving Grace’.
With the word ‘saving’ doing a lot of work.
Methinks the word “grace” gets an even greater workout…..
This just made me LOL! Thanks for the morning giggle.
