We knew they didn’t really get along anymore, but this is beyond ridiculous.
Yup, tRump is at it again, casting doubt upon something that he seems to suddenly think isn’t true. He laid into Mitch McConnell after he voted no on RFK Jr. He doesn’t “seem” to know that Mitch had polio as a child. For that alone, it would be a good reason to vote against RFK who is a vaccine skeptic, and anti-vaxxers are now seeing a resurgence of polio. How could you lie about something like that?
These differences started after McConnell blamed Trump for “disgraceful” acts in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack, and the president made personal comments about McConnell and his family. When explaining his vote, Mitch spoke about the life-saving impact of vaccines, as well as mentioning he had polio. “I will not condone the re-litigation of proven cures, and neither will millions of Americans who credit their survival and quality of life to scientific miracles.”
And tRump doesn’t remember? After partnering together for so many years, he didn’t “remember” that? Not to be content with not remembering, he called Mitch’s acuity into question. It’s not like HE had room to talk. Forgetting one of his best allies had polio? Get real now. And it gets better. “He’s not equipped mentally,” the president said. “He wasn’t equipped 10 years ago, mentally, in my opinion. He let the Republican Party go to hell.” Now did he *really*? Or was it the Mango Mandarin’s gradual takeover of the Republican party? Remember, 10 years ago they were heading towards The Orange Baby Balloon’s first presidency. And McConnell supported him all the way through that until 2021. Kinda makes one take a look at themselves when they almost die, methinks. I’m surprised he came out against DonOld at all. He didn’t vote to impeach him though, which probably didn’t count in the president’s mind. “No, you said bad things about me and I won’t forget it.” Ugh.
I kinda found myself liking Mitch for about 30 seconds each time he voted no. That took some cojones to do. But most of the time, I didn’t like him much at all when he killed so many good things in Congress. I never liked the Confused Carrot at all and never will. There‘s not one good thing, not one redeeming thing about that man. The hard part is watching all of this sh*t happen in the first 4 weeks (gods, only 4 weeks?) and still hoping and trying to have a country at the end. *Supposedly* he won’t be able to serve another term. I think they’re already looking at ways to get him in a third time. He is screwing up things left and right, some with Elon’s help (more ugh). We have to survive, right? We’ve survived for over 200 years. We will survive…

I don’t think the question is how low, instead it is how much will the American public tolerate?
That also seems to be unlimited. It’s like they elect people then stop paying attention and hope the results will be favorable for them. I get it, paying attention to politics is about as unpleasant as a root canal. If so much didn’t depend on it, I wouldn’t either. But still.
People think that election season is like 3 months every four years, and that they don’t have to think about it at other times. This attitude has gotten us into a world of hurt. No, one needs to pay attention to it all the time, because laws are passed and policies proposed all year round, every year. You have to listen if you want to be heard.
Trump isn’t smart but he has a memory like an elephant, appropriately enough. He has no loyalty to anyone, but he remembers anyone who dares to.not do what he wants.
