Hope Hicks has legal bills paid for by donations made to the Republican Party

According to RawStory, Donald Trump isn’t the only one benefitting from Republican donations.  Longtime aide, Hope Hicks has had her legal bills, amounting to over nearly $500,000, paid for by Republican donors.

If donors are becoming irritated by the mounting stack of scandals accumulating for Donald Trump, they’re likely even more irritated about the fact that their large donations are going straight into the pockets of lawyers defending Trump’s staff.

Three lawyers from the law firm, Trout Cacheris & Janis, represent people who are being investigated by Robert Mueller, including Hope Hicks.  Hicks hired Robert Trout, founder of the law firm, as her personal attorney in September. The Federal Election Commission report, filed Sunday, outlined the payment made to Trout for legal services provided to Hicks and is the first public disclosure of RNC payments to the law firm since Hicks hired Trout last year.

And this is significant since more than $1 out of every $5 has been needed for Trump’s legal fees this year; a total of nearly $4 million since he took office.  Trump’s legal fees have been paid for by Trump’s campaign committee and two fundraising committees that jointly raise money with the Republican National Committee.

So, if you’re a Republican donor – be warned. Your money is most likely paying for some lawyers’ kids to attend private school and a downpayment on a lovely vacation property.
