Ahhh, D-Day is dawning, when Donald’s daughter deigns to share with the rest of us mere mortals the arcane workings of the Trump Organization, much as the Oracle at Delphi was wont to inhale hallucinogenic vapors and then channel the words of Apollo. Ivanka leaves the drugs to her animated brother, but she unquestionably has information of value to impart. And the people she worked with at the Trump Organization were a Mt. Olympus of crooks, of that there can be little doubt. The Hill:

Her testimony Wednesday is expected to focus on several real estate transactions the attorney general’s office says involved misrepresentations, namely the acquiring of loans from Deutsche Bank for the Old Post Office Pavilion in Washington and Trump National Doral Miami.

“On each of those transactions with Deutsche Bank, Ms. Trump was aware that the transactions included a personal guaranty from Mr. Trump that required him to provide annual Statements of Financial Condition and certifications,” the New York attorney general’s office wrote in its initial complaint, referencing the skewed documents at the heart of the case.

Ivanka Trump is also expected to testify to the valuation of the New York apartment she and her husband rented more than a decade ago in Trump Park Avenue. State lawyers claim their rent was significantly lower than other penthouses in the building, with an option to purchase the unit for $8.5 million despite Trump’s financial statements valuing the same unit at $20.8 million.

I’ve been dealing with banks for 50 years and probably know banks as well as anybody,” Trump said on the stand on Monday. “I know what they look at; they look at the deal.” And they also look at the financial statements, he finally conceded yesterday. And the financial statements were monkeyed with. But Junior and Eric don’t know from financial statements. Eric was busy pouring concrete and Junior relied upon the accountants. So the big question of the day is, what will Ivanka say? Will she “go rogue” like she did with the January 6 Committee, back in the day?

Some fracturing was apparent in the former president’s daughter’s testimony to the House Jan. 6 committee that investigated the Capitol attack. While Trump continued to trumpet his false claims of election fraud, Ivanka Trump’s eight hours of testimony to the committee revealed that she did not believe the election was conducted fraudulently.

Mary Trump, the former president’s niece and a vocal critic, opined last week that Ivanka Trump might not spring to the family business’ defense as quickly as her siblings and father.

“She’s just going to tell the truth and throw him under the bus,” Mary Trump said.

Cousin Mary is usually right about these things. D-Day is going to be interesting. Be there. Will be wild.

  1. Forget the D-Day reference. In Trump/MAGA World tomorrow will go down as “I-Day.”

She sure as hell isn’t cut out for prison and keep in mind that early on when she and her hubby got involved with Trump’s campaign they sought out good legal counsel. Once in DC they hired top-tier legal talent. Of course, Jared blew it with their first counsel who is one of the very top handful in DC by repeated lies on his SF-86 but Jamie Gorelilck still hooked them up with another (then) top flight lawyer in Abbe Lowell. Basically they started covering their asses legally from early on. Just in case.

Trump is so toxic the very best don’t even want to work for Jarvanka anymore but they can still get very, very good representation and wannabe Princess Ivanka is going to have to navigate a legal minefield tomorrow as it’s quite possible she will have to either commit perjury or open herself up to criminal charges. However, as I’ve noted she began preparing for this YEARS ago and my bet is that she will if she can’t wiggle out of damaging admissions be ready to head with her lawyer to prosecutors with more than a little damaging information about her daddy. Cut a deal and only end up with probation.

Yes, it will mean the social life as one of FL’s (and beyond – her worming her way into Kim Kardashian’s orbit is telling) she’s worked so hard to have again will be postponed and for even longer this time. Who wants a newly convicted felon around? However what’s important is that she will throw he pops under the bus if she has to in order to protect herself. Unlike her idiot brothers she doesn’t need the Trump Org. or any money from it anymore.

  2. If the banks trump dealt with looked at “the deal”, I suspect he’d be getting loans from a loan shark instead of banks. Surely they saw just how incompetent he was at business, it was no secret.
