Donald Trump loves to play the big shot. It’s his most favorite-est thing to do in the whole wide world. When he can use words like bigly and brag about how much money he has, he is at the zenith of his happiness. The only problem is, sometimes he shoots off his big mouth and then all of his harlots and all of his fen have a hell of a time trying to put it all back together again.

Just ask Sean Spicer. Remember how he tried to spin “covfefe” as something legitimate? A secret code that only a select few were privy to? And this was while Spicer was in the process of losing track of an aircraft carrier. How one misplaces something the size of an aircraft carrier is beyond me, but the early Trump administration was a time of wonder, no question about that.

Today Trump stepped in it when he said he had “INFO on everyone.” He did that so he would seem so much smarter than Joe Biden. Only now it’s blowing up in his face.

Naturally, since he mentions the Secret Service, they were the first people asked about what records they keep of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago visitors. And not for the first time, either. This issue came up in 2017, the covfefe, aircraft carrier era. Here’s a snippet from a Politico article in October of that year.

There are no visitor logs or other system of tracking those who visited President Donald Trump at his winter retreat known as Mar-a-Lago, a Secret Service official confirmed Wednesday.

Responding to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit, Special Agent Kim Campbell said that her agency had a smattering of records regarding some foreign dignitaries and law enforcement officers who met Trump earlier this year during his stays at the Palm Beach resort he owns. […]

“The…search and review of records confirmed that there is no system for keeping track of Presidential visitors at Mar-a-Lago, as there is at the White House Complex,” wrote Campbell, head of the Secret Service’s Liaison Divison. “Specifically, it was determined that there is no grouping, listing or set of records that would reflect Presidential visitors to Mar-a-Lago.”

There you have it, in black and white (bolding for emphasis, mine) and so stack this up on the pile of Trump lies. Why not? They reach from here to the moon anyhow, what’s another one?

But, maybe it’s a little white lie, ya spose? Maybe the Secret Service doesn’t keep track of peoples’ coming and goings, but the Mar-a-Lago staff does? That’s swell if it’s the case. That means that the Justice Department can subpoena them under the Freedom of Information Act, or in conjunction with the ongoing investigation arising from the execution of the search warrant at Mar-a-Lago. (Pssst: either way, Trump’s screwed.) Raw Story:

It begs the question of whether that information has been subpoenaed by the Justice Department as part of their ongoing investigations into the theft of documents from the White House in 2021.

“Like every President in decades of modern history, his personal residence is personal,” the White House Counsel’s Office said in a statement about Biden. “But upon taking office, President Biden restored the norm and tradition of keeping White House visitors logs, including publishing them regularly, after the previous administration ended them.”

Trump refused to keep logs for the White House, but if there were logs kept of Mar-a-Lago while he was president at the “Winter White House,” those should technically be part of the National Archives information, and they should be subject to a Freedom of Information Act request.

University of Alabama Law School Professor Joyce White Vance noted that the “GOP leaders who demand that visitor logs be released for Biden are the same people who tolerated the Trump WH’s refusal to release logs while he was in office, let alone for Mar-a-Lago. That’s politics, not justice & needs to be called out.”

She went on to urge folks to question the hypocrisy and the discrepancy.

Legal expert Allison Gill echoed the same sentiment, saying that Democrats should demand the Mar-a-Lago logs, the Trump Tower visitor logs, the Bedminister Visitor logs and the visitor logs for the public storage shed in West Palm Beach where additional classified [paper] was found. While tongue and cheek, if Trump has that information “on everyone” then it might be helpful for law enforcement investigating the Trump documents scandal.

See what happens when you open your big mouth, Donald? And you won’t listen to anybody. So there you go, trying to be a big shot and telegraph to the world how in control you are and how you know everything and all you did was kick over another hornet’s nest. Now everybody wants to see the big “INFO” you bragged about.

What a dummy. Maybe Trump should get one of those cheek holsters, because every time he opens his mouth he shoots himself in the foot anyway.

  1. Well, either he really does have “info on everyone” and thus lied claiming to not have known who Nick Fuentes was and his neo-nazi/white supremacist background, or, he is lying now.

……has to be one, but can’t be both.

  2. There’s a simple and fairly comprehensive way to find out who visited Trump’s places in both FL and NJ. BILLING RECORDS! Visitors to those places aren’t the type to pay cash for meals and drinks, and maybe not even for tips to parking attendants. They either whip out a credit card or have it put on their tab and you can be damned sure of two things. Trump never “comped” shit to his guests, and if anyone didn’t pay their monthly bill promptly he’d rain down shit on them until they did. So while their are likely a relative handful of exceptions, guests at Mar A Lago consumed stuff or used services they had to PAY for. And THOSE records exist and DOJ (or others with standing) can subpoena them if they feel the need and can establish to a judge the information is relevant. That shouldn’t be hard to do. Oh, and worker’s employment records are fair game, and people making deliveries will have records of what they delivered and when and who signed for it. And professionals like accountants and lawyers or other consultants will have billing records. So, given the traffic in and out of Trump’s places (a shitload more than Biden’s) there’s a wealth of information on who was there and when at the very least.

  3. Think there’s a chance the “members” might start wondering what tfg has on them?
Might make for some interesting conversations in the dining room.
