There have been many many times in the course of writing about Trump world and the GOP in general that I have seriously wondered if I could be hallucinating, or alternatively if the computer is haunted. Josh Hawley running from the Senate was one of those times. Ted Cruz heading to Cancun while his state was reeling from a hurricane was another. Almost everything Donald Trump or a member of his family has done has caused me to feel that way. But this is in a class of its own.

I’m going to tell you what I don’t like about this. This is too War Of The Worlds for me. Probably no one reading this was there at the time, but I recall talking to my WWII generation pals, who heard the War Of The Worlds broadcast in 1939 or at the very least read about it the following day and it was mind blowing. People got in car accidents. Women broke the dinner dishes. Certain people got their guns and began hiding in the basement. It was a hyper-realistic fake news broadcast.

Yes, it was Halloween, all in good fun, etc., and arguably this same piece here of the Graham Cracker is also Halloween-ish and it is October. But on the other hand, there’s a line here which has been crossed, and I’m not sure we can uncross it. It seems to me that AI is a Rubicon of sorts and we seriously need to stay on the reality-based side of the fence.

Now this is in good fun. I approve of this.

What’s that you say? Maybe Lindsey is Tim Scott’s “lovely Christian girlfriend?” Wellll, they do both live in South Carolina. Wouldn’t that be a howler? If the Graham Cracker and Scott were in fact gay lovers? It would be fine with me. Strom Thurmond may have an issue with it, oh wait — he died 20 years ago — but he might have had an issue with it when he was still on this side of the grass.

Frankly, I think it’s a delightful idea. We need true love in the Senate.  Maybe that’s the kompromat that Trump has on Linseed, ya spose? McConnell would have a stroke for sure, there’s no question in my mind.

And let me say what I think is the truth of the matter: Graham made sense back in 2015 when he was calling Trump a “xenophobe” a “racist” and a “kook.” If that Graham would resurface, I think that guy could do alright. But somehow he became Trump’s lapdog fluffer and nobody likes or respects that person.

I wish we knew the answer. I’ll bet that Joe Biden wishes he knew the answer, too. He and Jill were such good friends with Lindsey at one time. Or, maybe Joe knows and has no intention of sharing and that makes sense, too.
