One would think that when the the chair of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence calls out members of his own party for spreading Russian disinformation it would be bad for said members but I guess the Trumpists just don’t give a squat…
“GOP Rep. Mike Turner on Sunday said that Russian propaganda has taken hold among some of his House Republican colleagues and is even “being uttered on the House floor.”
“We see directly coming from Russia … communications that are anti-Ukraine and pro-Russia messages, some of which we even hear being uttered on the House floor,” Turner, the chair of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence said in an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
“There are members of Congress today who still incorrectly say that this conflict between Russia and Ukraine is over NATO, which of course it is not,” he added.
Turner’s office did not immediately respond to NBC News’ request for clarification about which members of Congress he was referring to.
His comments come on the heels of remarks House Foreign Relations Committee Chair Michael McCaul made this week about how Russian propaganda has taken root among the GOP.“
Come on NBC, do you really need him to tell you who he was referring to or are you just trying to stir the pooh by getting him on the record naming names?
Why don’t you use some of your virtual ink to stain these traitors and stop trying to get someone else to do it for you?
“Turner and McCaul each tied Russia and its leader, Vladimir Putin, to other authoritarian leaders, including President Xi Jinping of China and Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea.
“[The propaganda] makes it more difficult for us to really see this as an authoritarian versus democracy battle, which is what it is,” Turner told CNN, adding, “President Xi of China, Vladimir Putin himself have identified as such.”
News organizations have continually let the Republicans off the hook out of fear they’ll be called biased.
Well, to be biased in the pursuit of liberty may not be such a bad thing… to fracture a quote from another Republican.

A friend I had growing up and graduated high school with live down in Fayetteville. He owns a small business that does some DOD logistics/supply work in fact. We’re old enough to be quite familiar with that song. Alas, in all the years we were out of touch with each other he changed. He’s a Trump loving MAGA and after initially catching up his invitation to come down sometimes and become fishing buddies again more or less got rescinded. I didn’t push it. I do recall when I was still sometimes active on FB him touting The Sounds of Silence as a MAGA anthem! To which I thought WTF? Simon should rewrite the part about praying to the neon gods to lame ass reality TV personalities.
unfortunately paul Simon recently announced his retirement due to voice problems.
Remember when we knew russia was at best an ally at need (when some enemy was knocking on their eastern border)? Remember when we knew they’d scurry back into their autocratic woodwork after that need?
