They are not even trying to hide it; are they Mother Jones?

House Republicans are eager to investigate the mishandling of classified documents—some classified documents, anyway.

On Sunday, James Comer, who chairs the House Oversight Committee, appeared on CNN and released a letter demanding visitor logs for Joe Biden’s Wilmington home, where classified material from Biden’s time as vice president was recently discovered. “Without a list of individuals who have visited his residence, the American people will never know who had access to these highly sensitive documents,” Comer, a Kentucky Republican, wrote to White House chief of staff Ron Klain.

I dearly hope that the House gets used to hearing the words: “This is part of an ongoing investigation by the Department of Justice and are not subject to Congressional subpoena.” The Democrats in the House never sought to “investigate Trump’s files” because they knew it was a DOJ thing and they had to keep out of it.

Not so for the Republicans. And they’re concerned that the American people will never “know” who had access to those files. What if the investigation shows that no one needs to know because they established that no one saw them or they were taken accidentally and not seen by anyone? Does the American public still have a right to “know” who came to Biden’s house?

And what about Mar-a-Lago? Where over one-hundred classified files were found as compared to the fewer than ten found in and around Biden’s home?

Comer said, however, that he will not seek visitor logs for Mar-a-Lago. “I don’t feel like we need to spend a whole lot of time because the Democrats have done that for the past six years,” he explained.

The answer is so offensive that it hurts the eyes. No, Democrats have not spent the last six years “doing that” (doing what?). When one says “the Democrats,” they best be careful if they include the FBI in that category because that is exactly how fascism starts, presuming that law enforcement works for the party at the top and not the United States generally, which is why Merrick Garland quickly appointed special counsel to handle the Biden matter. The special counsel will investigate logs and – if they do not find a crime, the American public has no right to know who came and went from the Biden residence.

Not even bothering to hide it. They’ve got some investigatin’ ta do, and since the Dems’ been investigatin’ for six years, that’s plenty. They’ll stick with investigating Biden.

  1. Other than a record of who had govt./campaign business meetings with Biden, Trump or any other President or VP I doubt keeping a log of visitors has been SOP. Hell, at Trump’s place in FL or Bedminster for that matter I can’t imagine a log was kept with all the vistitors coming and going.

  2. I don’t recall any of mango mushmouth’s properties other than maga-lardo being searched. Why not? It’s redundant to call the GQP hypocrites but it keeps showing up over and over.
