FL Republicans Poised To Cancel Ron and Casey DeSantis “Camelot”

Ron DeSantis and his wife Casey had such big dreams. The White House, and reprising JFK’s and Jackie’s “Camelot” – conservative style. Well, his Presidential bid flopped. Badly. Casey, for all her efforts to be Jackie Kennedy reincarnated was mostly considered a joke for trying. Still, it wasn’t that long ago when Team DeSantis ruled Florida with an iron fist. He told the GOP legislature how things would be and what to do and they by god did as told. Those days seem to be over. It’s REPUCLICANS in Florida who are investigating questionable financial dealings, especially by Casey D. and her dreams of succeeding her hubby as Governor are being flushed down Trump’s fake gold Mar a Lago toilet. He’s in favor of Byron Donald (who’s House seat is safely red) taking over.

There have been signs for a while now that the Florida GOP was tired of DeSantis (and his wife) and that seems to be turning into some serious open defiance.  CNN is reporting  she’s run into quiet resistance in her attempts to position herself for a run to replace her hubby. As I said Trump has made it known he thinks Donalds is the guy for Florida.   Now scandal is enveloping Team DeSantis and Casey in particular.  Her signature Hope Florida initiative is under increasing scrutiny. If some questions came up about what when on with $800k a while back, we now see a whopping $10 million shifting from the state to private charities with Hope Florida connections is being examined.  It’s a complicated matter as white collar financial shenanigans (crimes) tend to be so if you want details check out the linked article.

I’ll just say for now the whole thing stinks like the sewer leading from Mar a Lago and where there’s so much smoke there’s probably fire. Fire that would consume the tree Team DeSantis is in that way the hell up the creek!   As I suggested earlier that’s not even the most important part. It’s the Florida GOP that got to investigating all this:

Remarkably, the investigation into Hope Florida was not by Democrats, but by Republicans — a striking sign of DeSantis’ eroding clout in a state capital he once controlled with unchallenged authority. Outside Tallahassee, some of Trump’s staunchest allies in Florida have helped to amplify the controversy to their MAGA followers.

Wow. Here’s something fun to consider. Remember what U.S Attorney General Pam Bondi was doing before Trump put her in charge of DOJ? She was the freaking AG in FLORIDA. She used to belong to DeSantis but now she belongs to Trump. And it gets better. I don’t see her ordering any U.S. Attorney in FL to open a federal investigation as the GOP down there seems to be primed to go through Team DeSantis’ dirty laundry all on its own. But I’ll bet they are keeping tabs with the folks in the legislature doing the investigating.

I suspect if there’s any “there” there Bondi will throw Ron and Casey into the wood chipper.  For Trump DeSantis committed the unpardonable sin of running against him. If Trump were like the rest of us he’d have himself a ball just making fun of how disastrous DeSantis’ candidacy was. However Trump never forgets a slight and is vindictive as hell. Given he’s made Florida his home he can easily influence the legislature to go after both Ron and Casey like a pack of wolves.

As you’d expect Team DeSantis denies any and all wrongdoing. They insist it’s just a political vendetta and their actions have been above reproach. Sure. Yank on the other leg – it’s got bells on it. What matters is the pipe dream of continuing to maintain what they believe is “Camelot – Florida Version” that will one day become a second WH version is viable.  No one seems to be able to get them to see reality, and in fact have been in shoot the messenger mode:

Amid the fallout, the DeSantises have grown increasingly isolated. Donors, fundraisers and operatives are fleeing their orbit, and at the moment, few in Florida politics seem willing to sign up for another campaign with the couple. Multiple people have turned down positions in a potential Gubernatorial campaign, according to two sources who remain in contact with the Governor’s remaining team.

“These days, I can’t tell the difference between being their friend and their longtime enemy” a longtime Republican operative once close to the Governor told CNN.

In the end I think what will play out is Casey DeSantis runs for Gov. flopping as badly as Ron’s for the White House. He was the robot with faulty programming that didn’t come close to making him appear human. She’s the political version of a Stepford Wife candidate who has deluded herself into believing she’s Jackie Kennedy only more classy and graceful. Well, she’s not.

Amusing as all that is, the harder she pushes her (and Ron’s) pipe dream of staying in the Governor’s Mansion the more she sets herself up for genuine LEGAL trouble. The smart thing to do would be to lay low and make clear she and hubby will simply fade away when his term is up.  I just don’t see either DeSantis accepting that reality. So get ready because we’re likely to see the Sunshine State get showered by a DeSantis driven sh*t storm.
