The FBI is making a lot of arrests and today that included one of Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign aides, whom he then appointed to a position in the State Department. The arrest of Federico Klein marks the first known instance of a Trump appointee facing criminal prosecution in connection with the attempt to block Congress from certifying the Biden victory on January 6. Politico:
The alleged presence of a Trump political appointee at the riot may tie those events more closely to the president, although there is already ample evidence that many of those charged were inspired by Trump’s false claims about widespread election fraud and by his call for supporters to descend on Washington on Jan. 6 for events that he promised would be “wild.” […]
Before joining the 2016 Trump campaign, Klein worked as a researcher for the conservative Family Research Council…[…]
More than 300 people have now been charged in federal court for events related to the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol. The charges in the cases range from misdemeanor offenses, like entering a restricted area, to obstruction of Congress and assault on a police officer with a dangerous weapon.
The significance of this, as will doubtlessly continue to come out in testimony, is that Trump fomented all this. And he had the support of everybody from rank and file workers to top leadership in the GOP. There’s going to be a lot more arrests. It hasn’t even been 60 days. And Trump couldn’t care less how he’s affected peoples’ lives and their livelihoods. He’s down at Mar-a-Lago being a fat cat.
I guess this was inevitable, as is the fact that no one will ever see my comment.
I can probably have the site in full repair in 90 days. If you can’t hang, you can’t hang. It’s up to you.
I am hanging with you. The pop up add I get when I clik on an article is a little creepy.
I am also hanging and also don’t like that really annoying pop-up.
Ride or die for me, Ursula. I know you’re doing your best.
When this first of many appointees gets to talking, the Traitor Prince of Mar-A-Lago will start caring.
You jest of course – when has he ever cared about anyone or anything (apart from the number of zeroes in his bank account)?
You just answered your own question, as the legal action will affect those fictional zeroes in his equally fictional bank account. And don’t call me Shirley. 😉
About time. Arrest Hawley, Greene, and Boebert next.
I really like this site and your articles. I am staying in spite of the annoying article covering popup ads.
I’m in… the pop-up is different but it’s not a problem
