In a matter of a days, a self-admitted Dictator for a Day will take over America on January 20, 2025. Donald Trump, as President, will control the Executive branch of government, the House and Senate, as well as a partially corrupt U.S. Supreme Court that sets the Supreme Law of the Land.
THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH
Power over the Executive branch will enable already intended key roles on the FBI and DOJ to be offered to obedient and unqualified Trumpers. Retribution is a high priority for Trump. Malicious, Trump-appointed prosecutors will pursue outlandish accusations against political and Fourth Estate “enemies” who have ever attacked or criticized him. A chilling effect on First Amendment rights will occur, at a minimum, and likely to be more oppressive.
Many long-term officers and employees are responsible for the administration of Federal agencies providing regulatory compliance, public safety and subsidies to citizens. Gutting Federal agencies and replacing them with Trump loyalists is a large undertaking. Trump is incapable of doing that–but the lawyers and other professionals at Heritage Foundation are capable. They have been working on it for a year or more. Many die-hard Trumpers have been interviewed by Stephen Miller at the Foundation who had a nefarious role in the first Trump administration, permanently separating 1,000 children from their immigrant parents
Many social services to millions of Americans will shortly be in jeopardy.
THE OLIGARCHY
We have experienced an increase in billionaires, who own an increasingly larger percentage of wealth in the U.S. Trump is employing the Putin model oligarchy. Trump’s apparent Chief Oligarch, Elon Musk, and other billionaires of the Oligarchy will have great influence over the Executive branch, minimizing or excluding governmental regulations. More power and profit will come to the Oligarchs, in which Trump will share, as Putin has done.
What are anti-Trump parties and Independents doing? Informed people have known what to expect from Trump for a long time.
Proposing a “shadow government?” Not a likely answer. More Republicans turning against MAGA issues? Yes, but intimidation of weak-kneed Republicans has been wide-spread. Presidential pardons? Are they applicable to red state criminal indictments? I doubt that Wyoming, for example, would accede to a Presidential pardon if Trump acts on his intent to indict Liz Cheney.
Are the politicians going to simply try to set up political obstacles to Trumpers? Wait and See what happens to our Country? Against the Republican Majority in the House and Senate?
How many Americans against Trump are satisfied with the anti-Trump responses?
Trump’s model is, and has long been, Power and Wealth. Fairly stated, he had Four Heros and Role Models: his father, followed by Attorney Roy Cohn, who was disbarred and known to be ruthless, Putin and Hitler’s Mein Kampf autobiography and speeches which may be the only books he ever read.
THE JUDICIARY
Hitler came to power without violence. As Chancellor of the Weimar Republic, he gained control of the Judiciary as a priority, especially the Supreme Court. Newly appointed judges gave their Oath to Hitler, not their Constitution. The U.S. Supreme Court has opened the door to criminal immunity for a Presidential act. More MAGA judges who will do Trump’s bidding will be advanced. Republican manipulation is certainly feasible, e.g., short-cuts for interim or temporary judges, who are Trump loyalists.
THE TRUMP MILITIA
The SS ultimately became Hitler’s Militia, led by the ruthless SS leaders, Heinrich Himmler and Reinhard Heydrich. Trump states he will pardon the J6 rioters, giving him a loyal and grateful militia of multiple far-right groups. (E.g., Proud Boys and Oath Keepers)
THE MILITARY
Trump has called for criminal charges against General Milley and others. He will appoint a senior cadre at the Pentagon of unqualified Trump followers.
What is the military’s reaction to this hideous Administration’s plans to court martial senior officers who will not execute a plan to attack protesters against Trump, for example? That appears to be the basis on which Trump would seek to imprison General Milley.
THE INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY
Isn’t our intelligence community in close contact with our senior military officers? Both have taken their Oath to the U.S. Constitution. Are our powerful sources of protection of our Republic on the sidelines?
Why would we be surprised that we will withdraw from Ukraine and NATO?
WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?
There is no time left.
We are about to endure a dramatic change in our government. We are approaching the dictatorial effects of a second Trump term. Civil rights will suffer. Media censorship and lose of licenses will likely occur.
There is credible evidence in Special Counsel Smith’s case, which has been filed, to require a trial for serious crimes including insurrection. No intended Presidential candidate can obtain office until he is fully tried and acquitted of a serious crime, including insurrection.
NO INAUGURATION CAN OCCUR UNLESS HE IS FOUND NOT GUILTY
The President, DOJ, FBI, Senate, the Pentagon and Intelligence community should agree. Post Inauguration will be too late.
Excellent points. The problem is the rich Democrats aren’t willing TO HONOR THEIR OATHS OF OFFICE and be willing to FIGHT WITH THE TOOLS THEY HAVE. From your article I can see that you know exactly where we are headed. The problem is WE are the ones who stepped up in WW2…now WE’RE the new Germany of the 30s. There’s no where to run and no one to stop these nazis. As the atrocities pile up, I fully expect the same indifference from this pampered, ignorant, pleasure seeking population…who will pretend not to see what’s happening unless IT COMES TO THEIR DOORSTEP. We had a chance to stop it without firing a shot. Nope. I’m ashamed of this country. I truly am.
