There’s been a shifting in the sands of QAnon recently, and the trend is not to abandon the conspiracy theory so much as it is to regroup and find new leadership and direction within it. CNN:

The FBI has warned lawmakers that online QAnon conspiracy theorists may carry out more acts of violence as they move from serving as “digital soldiers” to taking action in the real world following the January 6 US Capitol attack.

The shift is fueled by a belief among some of the conspiracy’s more militant followers that they “can no longer ‘trust the plan” set forth by its mysterious standard-bearer, known simply as “Q,” according an unclassified FBI threat assessment on QAnon sent to lawmakers last week, which was obtained by CNN.
This might lead followers to seek to harm “perceived members of the ‘cabal’ such as Democrats and other political opposition — instead of continually awaiting Q’s promised actions which have not occurred,” according to the assessment.
This isn’t the first time this has been reported on, either.
Titled “Adherence to QAnon Conspiracy Theory by Some Domestic Violent Extremists,” the public FBI threat assessment was provided at the request of Democratic New Mexico Sen. Martin Heinrich, who earlier this year revealed that the FBI had provided lawmakers with version of the document in February that was designated “for official use only.”
“The participation of some domestic violent extremists (DVE) who are also self-identified QAnon adherents in the violent siege of the US Capitol on 6 January underscores how the current environment likely will continue to act as a catalyst for some to begin accepting the legitimacy of violent action,” the unclassified FBI assessment obtained by CNN says.
“The FBI has arrested more than 20 self-identified QAnon adherents who participated in the 6 January violent unlawful entry of the Capitol. These individuals were charged with violent entry and disorderly conduct in a restricted building and obstruction of an official proceeding, according to court documents and press reporting based on court documentation, public statements, and social media posts,” it reads.
Christopher Wray reports that QAnon is not being investigated in and of itself, but only whereas it pertains to a specific crime. Maybe it’s time for that to stop, and for the FBI to get to the root of the problem. Enough Qanoners have been arrested for their participation in the Capitol riot to where it’s not the least far fetched to call QAnon a domestic terrorist organization.
Most likely, the vast majority of QAnoners will drop by the wayside of their own accord. But that still leaves a hard core of heavily armed crazies, who enjoy joking about guillotines and who build gallows for kicks. QAnon may have started out as a bunch of loons sharing incendiary rhetoric on an online bulletin board, but since then it’s taken on a life of its own. We saw that at the Capitol January 6.
Even the QAnon Shaman’s lawyer said about his client, “He’s [client Jacob Chansley] not crazy. It’s a cult.” The big difference that distinguishes QAnon from Jonestown or Waco is that those cults didn’t have the endorsement of the then-president of the United States.

  1. Many of the QAnon lot got into the capitol – more than from the more organized groups. Not sure if Congress (especially the R half) really understands how much danger they were in, if more people had gotten in or if they’d been a little earlier.

  2. What would the response be if some BLM protestors or perhaps Muslims put up a ‘fake’ gallows or stormed The House with guns?

I think we all know the answer.

Just arrest and charge these people on terrorism offences.

  3. There are 300 million guns loose in america, many military style weapons. 74million plus adults are either stupid, greedy, racist or just plain cult members. Odds are there will be more violence, especially when former 3star generals & sitting Congress members ARE CALLING FOR A COUP USING WEAPONS. Geez…i sit & wonder what will happen. Duh mutherphuckers.
