The jury in the hush money case deliberated for four and a half hours before they were dismissed for the day. They will resume deliberations at 9:30 a.m. in the morning. There are a lot of experts who are hopeful of a conviction, although admittedly all anybody can do at this point is speculate. For their part, the jurors have passed notes to the judge, one for a portion of Michael Cohen’s transcript and another request, which Eli Honig says is a unique, first time one, to have the judge reread the jury instructions. Here’s the latest we know.
If I were in the DA’s office I’d be giddily bouncing off the walls right now,” attorney George Conway wrote on social media late Wednesday afternoon.
Minutes later attorney Tristan Snell, who helped secure the New York Attorney General’s $25 million settlement in the Trump University civil case, also predicted a likely Trump conviction:
National security attorney Brad Moss, appearing on CNN Wednesday afternoon said, “I don’t expect a hung jury but if we get into Friday, or even next week Monday, it certainly would appear that would be more likely what’s going on. But if we have a decision tomorrow, my expectation is it will be a guilty verdict.”
“BREAKING: Trump jury asks for testimony transcripts, including 3 sections from David Pecker and 1 section from Michael Cohen. VERY bad sign for Trump that David Pecker’s testimony landed with the jury and is something they want to focus on. Jury is likely leaning toward GUILTY.”

Now on to the requests from the jury for the transcript and the “first ever” request to have the jury instructions re-read. This went very fast.
I’m going to disagree that this is bad for the prosecution. It could be that the jury is in fact ready to make a decision but they want to make sure that they’ve got the jury instructions right and they do everything by the book. That’s just my take on it, and granted, the people on this panel know far more than I do about this process.
The jury returns at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow morning. Let us hope for a conviction tomorrow. It could happen. Or, deliberations may drag out longer. Meanwhile, as you have seen, the MAGAs are wailing in the streets outside the courthouse and Trump is banging away on Truth Social about his gag order and how unfair it all is.

Judge: "Mr. Trump, do you understand these charges?"
Trump: "Yes I do" https://t.co/rj4YyeFA59— Wu Tang is for the Children (@WUTangKids) May 29, 2024
A conviction would be the beginning of some closure for the ordeal this man has put this country through for the past nine years.

Moving on from this case will be good. Too little attention has been paid to the GA case and more attention paid to what that twit in FL is doing, or not doing, might put pressure on the 11th to remove an obviously incompetent judge from a very serious trial. There is nothing funny about the FL case since what Von Shitz did borders on (or crosses completely) treason. A thumb on the scale in Von Shitz’s favor would destroy our nation. Period.
Time for Von Shitzinpants to pay the piper-time to get that 3 hots and a squat.
Anyone who has followed this fascist toddler knows he is guilty as hell of everything he’s been charged with, along with a hundred violations he hasn’t been charged with. I guess other than those who don’t believe their own eyes and ears and the documents they read. If he were poor, white or black, he’d been in prison long long ago. Just a couple of small questions as an example; how many women/girls do you have to assault before you’re arrested? How many top secret documents can one steal IN PLAIN SIGHT, before you’re in cuffs on the ground? I could go on but here in America poor folks get NO SUCH LEEWAY!!! Before you nice people get your panties in a wad and start talking legalese about equal justice and other fantasies, get real. There are no good excuses for this travesty called the LAW. Those with the most gold and guns make the LAW, no matter how unjust it is. FACT. Lucky you weren’t black and living in this country during the Supreme Court ruling in 1856 when those white men said you were property and had no sanctuary anywhere in the land. And some here aren’t facing the possible reality that IF trump steals the office again, we’ll see him killing innocent people, deporting millions, and things we just can’t imagine. WE’RE so goddamn high and mighty and brainwashed, WE can’t imagine living in a fascist state. Really? REALLY?
There are plenty of things one could say about Trump’s “Truth.” One is that he obviously didn’t write it himself. No way did he type (or even think) “specificity.”
On top of everything else against Trump at this moment, his very limited knowledge of proper English, even the corrupted American version, having to have someone else read for him and explain with sketches of stick people with name labels and outlines of buildings with their own labels, it is a mind-blowing fact that he was able to survive in the actual office of POTUS for more than a couple months … His, “KINGDOM”, that he imagines would actually have to have an office of workers, dedicated to proper grammar and spelling, interpretation, with highly trained cartoon artists to output current events and important things like meetings with PM’s from other countries …
Early in his disastrous phony term, I remember, very clearly, a typical photo op with public camera’s there as well, a hand-clapping signing of one of those black portfolio’s, suddenly Trump stood up and was asking, “Why didn’t someone tell me what it said in this document?”, unknowingly on a live mic … A REAL RED FLAG to show him as the WRONG human to be in that office …
He had just signed something into law that was NOT something he approved of …
He cannot and never will bluff his way through a prison term, the folks there range from young bungling burglars to serial killer lifers with nothing to lose, so, his unruly mouth could get him in trouble …
He wouldn’t survive a month in a real penitentiary.
