This is reminiscent of the famous photo from WWII where Adolf Hitler and chums were attending the Olympics in Europe and they were all stoned on their asses. They were twitching, rocking back and forth, visibily impaired. In this vignette you’re about to see, Elon Musk and a woman identified in the Twitter thread as one of his baby mamas, Shivon Zillis, are seemingly loaded and playing with some kind of a toy. I don’t know what’s in Musk’s hands, a new spaceship? Space station? And as an added bonus, Trump is sitting a few feet away and evidently he’s just fine with it all. Loaded on his own?

The answer proffered in the comments thread is that that’s a side effect of Ketamine, you rock back and forth. Man, you’d have to be pretty loaded to be rocking back and forth like that and not even know it — or know you were doing it, but not care how weird it looked.

And Musk playing with whatever that is, like an 8-year-old with a toy airplane, looks strange as well. Well, at least it’s not a chainsaw, especially considering he’s a few feet away from the president of the United States. Here’s another video. Evidently that’s flatware that Elon is playing with. Perfectly normal for a middle aged executive.

Ketamine Maximus is the operant principle here, methinks.

Anybody know what the big Xmas tree ornament is that has Musk so transfixed? Maybe a space station? He’s going to build a space station for billionaires to live above it all, like that 2013 Matt Damon movie, Elysium? This is the prototype for Muskysium?

Kakistocracy. That’s the word that describes this all, “government by the least fit.” We may have started out with a constitutional democracy, a democratic republic, but we have devolved into a kakistocratic oligarchy. And it’s happening every single day before our very eyes.

I marvel that there isn’t more fuss about the billionaire Secretary of Commerce softsoaping Social Security checks yesterday. The people on the top don’t care if the people on the bottom starve to death and that’s becoming more and more apparent as the days go by.

There are some who believe that control of the underclasses is the goal. I can’t say that that doesn’t make sense.

Sometimes things are simple. If we take Occam’s Razor to this last election, it’s entirely possible that people voted for Trump still under the delusion that he was a representative of the Old GOP and not the wrecking ball for same. How his first term didn’t disabuse them of that notion, I don’t know. But that’s the best presumption I can make. The Democrats were all too aware of Project 2025 and Trump’s schemes, and we tried to warn them. We failed. Our messaging failed.

So now we have Trump in run amok mode and he will stay in that mode. He’s angry and he figures that now that he’s back in power he can go after everybody and everything that doesn’t cow tow to him.

Republicans are waking up slowly, as we’ve seen from town halls. Threats to Medicare and Social Security are not what they bargained for — because they weren’t listening. They weren’t paying attention.

Musk has every intention of remaking government into his own ignoramus image of what it should be, which is privatizing everything and letting the wealthy run the world, to an even greater extent than they already do. And Trump is fine with that. Trump avoided prison, which was all he really wanted to do and now he’s going to play golf and let Elon run the show. That much we know.

And that is a recipe for catastrophe.

Zoomers, if you have any spare change we could use it. We’re in month five of a traffic downturn, which is part of an industry-wide media recession. We fully intend to stay in business until things get back to *normal* but in this topsy turvy world who knows when that will be? To those of you who have helped, many thanks. And thanks to all of you for coming here to read. Ursula

  1. Trump’s voters didn’t know what the hell Trump was doing in his 1st term because rightwingding media hid reality from them and mainstream media soft-pedaled or ignored his abuses too. Far too many knowledgeable people presumed that he’d never get re-elected, so they didn’t get off their lazy asses to vote. And America’s diehard bigotry was at full steam, too, against a black woman. Trump offered them a circus and they bought tickets, so now we get to watch the clowns destroy our government and our nation, while cowards in congress do nothing to save them.

    • I can’t argue with a thing that you say. The MSM sanewashed Trump and normalized him. Now here we are for Trump: The Sequel and it’s the horror we knew it could be. And we are only 61 days in.

  2. Yes it’s conspiracy theory but I still can’t accept that he won without help from Musk and his bro’s manipulating the votes!

  3. It’s “kowtow.” But, yeah – it’s a shitshow and, you’re right, the Dems prescient messenging didn’t move the needle. Truly sad that the future of our democracy could depend upon a creative/aggressive marketing campaign, but here we are.

    • Thanks for the spelling correction. I was about to write my own note about that, but I read your message first. So, I am just seconding the notion.

  4. It looks like he is making an airplane our of the flatware. Maybe next time they can give him.a placemat or brown paper and crsyons to.keep.him.busy.
