While you’re waiting for Iran to do whatever Iran is going to do by way of a return punch(s) walk down memory lane and listen to E. Jean Carroll. She brings up an aspect of the defamation trials that I’ve never heard before and it is a fascinating one. Trump ripped into Alina Habba on a regular basis and I can’t say I’m surprised. The facts were against him, the law was against him and Habba was wildly out of her depth. She’s not a trial lawyer. So of course he ripped into her. But this is the first time we’ve heard that aspect of it.

E. Jean Carroll: This is a man who wears apricot makeup, with his hair twirled around his head like Barbara Stanwyck in Ball of Fire.I was so close—I heard almost every single thing he said. The farting—you wanted to know about that?It was a silent one… sort of.

This is a valid insight, that Trump was “very cruel to Alina Habba, Esq., treated her terribly.” I don’t doubt that he did. And that shows you what a total phony Habba is — and what phonies everybody around Trump is.

There is a real insight here, which people need to know. Maybe E. Jean Carroll’s book will expose it, but Trump abuses everybody. And if they stick around and take it — for the money — then he’ll keep abusing them and keep doling out the money. And that’s the transaction. And don’t think Melania hasn’t had her fair share of abuse. That’s why she charges plenty.

Lawyers, generally speaking, don’t take that level of abuse from a client. There are plenty of first rate trial lawyers in the country and none of them wanted to take this case, obviously, or Habba wouldn’t have wound up being Trump’s attorney. She took the case and took the abuse for the money. She knew she couldn’t win the case, knew that she didn’t even know how to try a case, but she took it because evidently having the Birkin bags and all that is a better way to go than having your own integrity and not being a slave to a man like Donald Trump.

It’s amazing how many people are willing to sell their souls for money. And that’s who Trump brings into his circle, are people whom he can abuse and pay off. And abusers paying off victims is nothing new. Read up on battered women and you’ll hear stories of men who break their wives’ jaws and then toss a diamond bracelet at them a few days later. And those are the wealthy victims. Impoverished victims get no “pay off” or apology or anything.

Trump is one of the vilest men that ever lived. I can’t wait to read that portion of E. Jean Carroll’s book, about the trial, and hear about the jury’s mouth hanging open. It’s no wonder he lost like he did, cutting that kind of a figure before a jury — let alone cutting farts.

My God, why wasn’t all this made into attack ads during the campaign? Or maybe it wouldn’t have mattered. We live in siloed information ecosystems. And the truth about the monster that Trump is, has been shouted from the rooftops but still ignored. I will never understand that.

In all events, we’re stuck with him, again, and unless Mother Nature does her job, we’ve got another three and a half years. Again, I take my hat off to E. Jean Carroll and her lawyers for having the tenacity and guts to stay in the fight and not be dissuaded by the mob boss who buys everybody off. We may have to put up with Trump, but at least history will record that a few people, E. Jean Carroll, Letitia James, Stormy Daniels and others stood up to the cantaloupe cretin and wouldn’t back down. Brava, I say. (throws roses) Brava ladies. And Bravo to the good men in the fight as well.

Just because we didn’t win this fight doesn’t mean we’re not right. We are right. That’s the horrible reality we live with every day is that sometimes evil wins and it’s a sad but true reality: Evil, especially evil with loads of money, wins over good a lot of the time.

  1. I wouldn’t say we didn’t win. The E Jean Carroll case is not over. There are other court cases pending against him. I also hope and pray the protests only gain in numbers and frequency. Like Yogi Berra said, “it ain’t over til it’s over.”
