Oh, FUX News was a joy to watch today. As an alleged news organization, they had no choice but to report on the jury verdict in the E Jean Carroll defamation case. And there’s no way that you can turn the lemons of being found civilly liable for sexual abuse to the tune of $5 million smackeroos into lemonade. But damn, they sure did try.
First they immediately parroted the FUX bubblesphere/Trump mantra that was all part of a nine year long partisan political, wait for it, witch hunt! And then a FUX analyst spurted out the bullsh*t that the verdict was predetermined, since Carroll took her case before a Democratic judge and jury. But nothing in that Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers dance routine could cover up one simple fact. The jury found the mofo guilty of sexual assault!
But FUX will get away with this claptrap simply because they know that they can. because their viewers don’t actually get any fact based news. And the only other news they get is from outlets even more craven and insane. No skin off their noses.
The same goes for Trump. Hell, he’s cruising his way through the primaries right now, he’s cruising. And as long as he screams partisan witch hunt! he isn’t going to lose a base vote. Hell, being held civilly liable for grabbing women by the p*ssies just makes him one of the guys. And the low IQ female Trump voters will line up to give him a grope. Like a badge of honor. Take a sexual assault hit for the team.
Now consider this. According to a recent poll, 71% of GOP voters, regardless of whether or not Trump leads the party, actually approve of the direction he’s taken the party in. Which means that 71% of Republican voters actually like being a racist, sexist, homophobic party of punk white grievance. From where I’m sitting, the current iteration of the GOP is beyond salvation. It will die and be replaced.
But here’s the problem for Traitor Tot. He can’t use 71% of the GOP vote. Hell, he can’t even settle for 100% of the GOP vote if he wants to get elected again. If Trump wants to win a national election, he’s going to need to pull in at least some moderate, independent, and soft Democratic and GOP voters to get over the top.
And do you know what those most critical voters see right now? What they see is a 3rd rate, scumbag serial sexual abuser. Trump might have been able to shake off the two impeachments as a political witch hunt. He might even be able to squeak through with the same excuse for the DOJ, Manhattan DA, and Fulton County investigations. But a New York jury of six men and three women just found Trump civilly liable for being a serial sexual abuser. And that’s a whole nother kettle of fish.
Why do I keep saying a serial sexual abuser? Simple. The jury believed E Jean Carroll’s story. But in order to prove it by a preponderance of the evidence, it means that the jury also believed the two other women that testified in the trial. And that makes El Pendejo Presidente a serial sexual abuser.
And what independent or soft middle voter wants to cast a ballot for a serial sexual predator? Especially one already under indictment in Manhattan, and facing multiple federal indictments as well as Fulton County indictments. Serial sexual assault may be a resume builder for the Trump base, but for any other employer? Good luck with that job at the car wash.
The GOP is boned. Sideways. Their base is securely in Trump’s corner, so they can’t criticize Trump for his boorish behavior. But what will those vaunted, critical GOP white suburban women voters think about their presidential candidate? And will they be, after nine years, disgusted enough to take it out on the down ballot? Don’t touch that dial.
Just a correction, but Trump isn’t “cruising his way through the primaries right now” since there aren’t any primaries being held yet.
The primary/caucus season is long enough as is at 5 to 6 months in the presidential election years. We do NOT need to even be thinking of the words “primary” or “caucus” (at least beyond the hypothetical) EIGHT full months before the first one’s even held.
Trump decided that when he announced his run in 24. He forced the issue in order to make the GOP fall in line and it seems to be working out for him as the spineless Rep’s are stuck on top of the fence and are basically effed if they get off on the wrong side, and they haven’t a clue what that might be. Spineless my Lord Mike Pence slithery like an eel trying to not say Trump is a low life serial rapist. Notice DeSantis isn’t chasing any microphones to comment on this latest pussey grabbing (blushing now) incident? Oh no he’d rather worry Florida’s favorite rodent Mickey Mouse. Great Scott what a laughable cast of characters they are. Gettin mighty hot in the Capital Ted Crus must be thinkin of sending his family off somewhere cool. And accidently forgetting and going with them. So long Cancun Ted. Jokers the whole bunch.
The gqp will continue, probably getting even worse if that’s possible. The white, middle-class, suburban, republican housewives will vote republican. Up and down the ticket. Because that’s what all republicans do – they vote PARTY over person. So dfg will get their votes even if they have to hold their noses while they vote for him. It’s the way of that party. It’s up to Democrats to advertise what this country will become under the gqp majority and leadership and in all my years of voting for Democrats (since 1976) I have never seen the Democrats come out fighting. They wait until a couple of weeks before the election and put out some weak ads. They need to FIGHT! Show the country what the Democrats have done so far and what they will continue to do and make it COUNT this time! Get out there and advertise! Spend the money, do it right this time. It may be our last chance! God help us if we lose in 2024.
